Hi Everyone,
My name is Mike and I have a writing addiction. I've been writing on and off (mostly off) for the last few years. I made a new year's resolution to "consume less and create more", whether that's growing/cooking my own food instead of going out, writing instead of watching TV, yada yada yada. The first 20 days has been great, and when I found this website, it sounded like the right step to take. I've also joined an in-person writing workshop, but there tend to be more interesting people on the inter-webs.
Don't be nervous. If you want to go slow we can just do some flash fiction in the backseat of my car.
Wow, another Canuck. Welcome to the Lit.
Hey Mike. Welcome! So what kind of stuff do you write?
@ Brandon. Ha!
Brandon...I hope LR's HR rep doesn't see that.
Welcome, I like the hat.
I think Kirk is about as close to an HR rep as we got and I know for a fact he likes it dirty.
Welcome! Those are laudable resolutions, good job. Have fun, writing is joy.
Melissa
A fellow Canuck
Welcome, I'm new too. But I wouldn't trust a thing these guys say, they're all a bunch of lunatics. Between you and me, I would get out NOW, before it's too late. Don't end up like me, imprisoned in this insane asylum. And PLEASE don't tell any of them I said any of this, I'm begging you. They'll hurt me.
Welcome Mike,
Another Calgarian I see. There's a gaggle of you all formin' around here.
Yeah, be wary of Tietz's fiction flashing. It is so good it hurts.
@Dave, watch out for the ending of that Hemingway you got your nose stuck in.
@Melissa: wink
@Sarah: Can you be my davenport in this insane asylum?
Floggings for the new peeps. Line up.
Brandon wrote fiction with me in the back of his car and didn't call the next day. Then I found out I had adjectives on my genitals a week later.
If you start seeing comma splices I'd call a doctor. Doctor Joseph Suglia, that is.
O hai.
I just looked that guy up. WTF?
Suglia you mean? Yeah, the guy is a fucking nut-job if you ask me.
I watched the trailer to his "film". It looks like a bad student film, it makes "The Room" look oscarworthy.
You guys better lay off. Dr. Joseph Suglia is the greatest writer in the world.
Welcome, Mike - love the "consume less, create more" phrase...exactly my dilhema. As I put it for me, "getting lost in research"...
