I guess I could have put this in the official whoring thread but then wouldn't that mean I'd be calling my grandma a whore?
Now this is NOT my book, but my grandmother's book. It's about her life, her loves, her youth during WW2, and it's not prolly most of y'all cup of tea, but I suppose it doesn't hurt to say it.
But I am, in fact, the one who translated it into English and published it through Amazon so she can see it published while she's still alive. She's going to be 84 soon and she still chops wood in the little mountain town where she lives, in Romania (where they still chop wood).
So all I want to be able to tell her is that there were a few (or a ton!) of people who bought her book. If you are kind enough to get it on Kindle (it's cheap!), maybe I can tell her I didn't completely fail her even if it wasn't made into a movie yet.
That's all...
It's awesome you did that. WhT a wonderful thing.
Wow, read the excerpts. Gonna put it on my wishlist.
Vraj, you are awesome!
She fucking chops wood! Now, this would make a great film.
That's really awesome!
Very cool.
I'm going to get this for Kindle tonight when I get off work.
I think that's wonderful, Liana! I respect that.
Very interesting. Sounds like a fun project for you, will look great on the C.V., and with extra sentimental bonus! When I have cleared a few things off my reading list, this might have to squeeze it's way in.
Very cool. Just bought it, and if I have time, I may be the first to review it! Reminds me of a favorite read, A New Home - Who Will Follow? by Caroline Matilda Kirkland...
Very cool that you did this for your Me-Maw!
Hey, looked at some of your old posts after your coming out today and saw this thread, bought the book and I guess just that fact bumps the thread, read some of the beginning in the peek section and I think I am going to enjoy this when it slots into my reading schedule. I think I would like to see some popular quotes from the main text because I've known a few Hungarian and Romainians that have fascinating stories.
This is awesome, Liana. I'm buying right now.
Bought it a while ago, loved it, however did not review it at Amazon :(
Sweet of you to share for her. That's what this community is for!
