How are you and yours doing (If you want/need to talk about your kids, family, day job, and daily grind use this question)?

What are you reading? How is it?

What uncommon writing tools, websites, and what not are you using? How are they helping you?

What other music, shows, movies, or various media are you into? How are they?

What are you writing, writing related activities, and/or editing? How is that going?

Do you have any other creative projects in other formats?

Why aren't you getting more done with it (in general, not this very second)?

Is that just an excuse?

Really?

Anything you know and want to share with us? Just this one month, for a change of pace, make it neither disgusting nor downbeat. We all have had enough bad, for real keep is happy. Please.

Feel free to ask me a reasonable question(s), I just won't answer my own if you repeat them back or re-word them.

How are you and yours doing? My parents just retired, and I was able to send them on a weeklong trip to three cities in SoCal, which they loved.

What other music, shows, movies, or various media are you into? Daredevil was rad. I'll be sad to see Mad Men go in a couple of weeks. Mainly, though, I'm just biding time until Hannibal returns next month.

Do you have any other creative projects in other formats? My time since last fall has been devoted to writing and recording my new album. I'm DIYing everything—which usually means loop-y electronica in most people's hands (and couldn't interest me less)—but this is just good ole melodic hard rock with actual instruments. Sounds great so far, and I can see the light at the end.

Why aren't you getting more done with it? My podcast (Important Question?) takes up a fair amount of time, even more since we went weekly.

Is that just an excuse? No. They're both audio projects, so I have to reconfigure the studio each time, and I'm lazy.

Anything you know and want to share with us? My local NFL team just drafted a wide receiver who's a Star Wars geek, having written, directed, and starred in a pretty good fan film.

Feel free to ask me a reasonable question. Would you rather get dumber or uglier as you age?

How are you and yours doing (If you want/need to talk about your kids, family, day job, and daily grind use this question)? Fuck all. I just need to find an editing or writing job. Not going well.

What are you reading? How is it? Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. It's okay. The background information is more exciting.

What uncommon writing tools, websites, and what not are you using? How are they helping you? None at the moment.

What other music, shows, movies, or various media are you into? How are they? Bones. Nothing much else.

What are you writing, writing related activities, and/or editing? How is that going? Just finished my honors thesis. Now it's time to complete final revisions and then shoot it out to publishing houses.

Do you have any other creative projects in other formats? Managing editor if a literary journal. Comes out Wednesday.

Why aren't you getting more done with it (in general, not this very second)? Just waiting on it to come back from the printers so we can distribute it.

Is that just an excuse? No.

Really? Really.

How are you and yours doing (If you want/need to talk about your kids, family, day job, and daily grind use this question)?

I'm doing quite well. Just started tightening up my core muscles. Used my sunglasses for the first time today (while not on holiday). Although I'm feeling a bit tired.

What are you reading? How is it?

I'm not involved in a novel or anything, but I still haven't finished Petrushevskaya's short stories. I like'm very much, they're like dark fairytales.

What uncommon writing tools, websites, and what not are you using? How are they helping you?

I bought a book (Painting / Musee d'Orsay) with a lot of impressionistic paintings in it. That's currently my thing to inspire my writing.

What other music, shows, movies, or various media are you into? How are they?

Currently watching a lot of shows on painting (Artforger's masterclass, fake or fortune, ...) and just finished the complete series of Seinfeld for this year. Now started Curb your enthusiasm for this year. I watched that Inherent Vice (Thomas Pynchon) movie but didn't like it. Of course still listening to podcasts (New Yorker fiction podcast, short stories, etc.)

What are you writing, writing related activities, and/or editing? How is that going?

Writing a short story about a young man who inherits a fortune, but doesn't see it. I quit right before the crisis but intend on finishing it tonight or tomorrow.

Do you have any other creative projects in other formats?

Yes, I'm painting a portrait of a girl lying in bath. And rehearsing for a play that I'll perform this weekend.

Why aren't you getting more done with it (in general, not this very second)?

Too tired, too busy.

Is that just an excuse?

Yes and no.

Feel free to ask me a reasonable question. Would you rather get dumber or uglier as you age?

Uglier I guess, since if I was still smart maybe I can find a loophole to get prettier or something.

what's your favorite beer?

Big brand Rolling Rock, local brand Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale.

What song could you play on repeat for 24 hours at this moment?

Literally Jealousy by the Gin Blossoms, as always. I had a bet about who could listen to it longer once. 12 hours for me to win.

I'm guessing you meant what song I am literally feeling right now that I'll play a few times in a row would be the Highwayman.
