What other music, shows, movies, or various media are you into? How are they?

What are you writing, writing related activities, and/or editing? How is that going?

What is the best thing you can say about Ryan Shawn Mooney (a.k.a. R.Moon)?

Feel free to ask me a reasonable question(s), I just won't answer my own if you repeat them back or re-word them.

What is the best thing you can say about Ryan Shawn Mooney (a.k.a. R.Moon)?

For once I'll break my rule and answer this - I've never known anyone to have anything bad to say about him.

How are you and yours doing (If you want/need to talk about your kids, family, day job, and daily grind use this question)?

What other music, shows, movies, or various media are you into? How are they?

Nada, except I watched Stonehearst Asylum the other night, not bad.

What are you writing, writing related activities, and/or editing? How is that going?

Not at the rate I want, but not bad really.

Do you have any other creative projects in other formats?

Nada

Why aren't you getting more done with it (in general, not this very second)?

Because I'm making new stuff to fill gaps, not revising already written passages.

Is that just an excuse?

Nope

Really?

No I'm not relenting

Anything you know and want to share with us?

The mushrooms in Super Mario were, indeed, based on mushrooms that get you high as shit.

What is the best thing you can say about Ryan Shawn Mooney (a.k.a. R.Moon)?

I really wish I would have gotten to know him

Feel free to ask me a reasonable question(s), I just won't answer my own if you repeat them back or re-word them.

What's your favorite book? (Or series).

Finally getting around to finishing a feast for crows ( game of thrones book 4) first 200 pages are a bit of a slog but it really picks up. After that it's the new don winslow The cartel and Lansdale paradise sky lined up.

What are you writing, writing related activities, and/or editing? How is that going?

Making very slow progess on two short stories. One crime, one horror.

Do you have any other creative projects in other formats?

No

Why aren't you getting more done with it (in general, not this very second)?

Just can't get my arse in gear of late. Cross between too many rejections, very good weather and the appeal of BBQs and beer gardens.

Is that just an excuse?

Nope

Really?

You bet your sweet ass it is.

Anything you know and want to share with us?

Today I had no phone signal for two hours and ate an apple. It felt like a very tiny insight into what it's like to live as a horse....

What is the best thing you can say about Ryan Shawn Mooney (a.k.a. R.Moon)?

His feedback was awsome. I should have read more of his stuff in the workshop.

Feel free to ask me a reasonable question(s), I just won't answer my own if you repeat them back or re-word them.

Can't think of anything

How are you and yours doing (If you want/need to talk about your kids, family, day job, and daily grind use this question)?

We're doing our summer thing.  Swim lessons and hiking and playing in the park.

What are you reading? How is it?

A Storm of Swords (3rd Game of Thrones book).  It's not bad.  The text is pretty dense so I can only take a bit at a time before I need a break.  I'm finding I really like certain characters and am eager to read their chapters while others feel like a chore to get through.

What uncommon writing tools, websites, and what not are you using? How are they helping you?

I'm not.

What other music, shows, movies, or various media are you into? How are they?

We've gotten hooked on American Ninja Warrior.  I know it's cheesy, but hey it's summer.  I don't need to think that hard.

What are you writing, writing related activities, and/or editing? How is that going?

I'm editing one young adult book, working on the next, and avoiding writing query letters.

Do you have any other creative projects in other formats?

There's a sketchbook full of things I should paintl.

Why aren't you getting more done with it (in general, not this very second)?

Because I have a toddler.

Is that just an excuse?

Have you ever met a toddler?

Really?

Seriously.  Potty training.

What is the best thing you can say about Ryan Shawn Mooney (a.k.a. R.Moon)?

I didn't get to know him.  I joined LR right around when he went missing, but he sounds like he was a great guy and a true friend.

How are you and yours doing (If you want/need to talk about your kids, family, day job, and daily grind use this question)?

Good. Just waiting for the summer holidays so I can get a week away from the daily grind.

What are you reading? How is it?

Re-reading some Neil Gaiman. Just finished Graveyard Book, and onto Ocean. They are two of my favourite books, so yeah… they are damn good.

What uncommon writing tools, websites, and what not are you using? How are they helping you?

Nothing uncommon. TV Tropes is still about as uncommon as it gets. Wiki too from time to time.

What other music, shows, movies, or various media are you into? How are they?

Like Big Old Dave I do enjoy a bit of Man Down. It’s ridiculous and overblown, but it is damn funny at times, and I do love Greg Davies. Sadly at this time of the year all the decent shows are stopping, and there won’t be much else until after summer.

What are you writing, writing related activities, and/or editing? How is that going?

Issue 1 of RCX Magazine. We are so close to having the stories locked now, and it looks like we will release it in the first week of August. There is a connection to Litreactor in the mag, given that issue 1 will feature a story from both Teleport Us and Arrest Us, and in issue 2 there is a story that has been workshopped here.

Do you have any other creative projects in other formats?

Only school projects. Just finished one with the boy… a monument to freedom. We had wings rising out of chains, and the wings were made of handprints. Got loads of different people to provide us with the handprints, and I have to say, it looks bloody amazing.

Why aren't you getting more done with it (in general, not this very second)?

I couldn’t be in a better position. I have just a last edit sweep on a few stories, and a Thunderdome story ongoing too. I don’t think I could do much more.

Is that just an excuse?

No, it’s a humble brag.

Really?

Aye.

Anything you know and want to share with us?

I’m not a sharing kind of person.

What is the best thing you can say about Ryan Shawn Mooney (a.k.a. R.Moon)?

I honestly don’t believe I had any interaction with him. I think anyone that has this many fine people mourning his loss is someone worth having known.

Feel free to ask me a reasonable question(s), I just won't answer my own if you repeat them back or re-word them.

Nah, I’ll leave you in peace.

How are you and yours doing?
Much better since I bought some blackout curtains for my bedroom. I keep pretty late hours but work corporate ones, and sunlight still waking me at 7am on the weekends after not much sleep was just damned rude.

What are you reading? How is it?
Nada. Looking forward to binge-reading this fall, though.

What uncommon writing tools, websites, and what not are you using? How are they helping you?
ThisIsntHappiness.com is a good tumblr for arty, visual inspiration.

What other music, shows, movies, or various media are you into? How are they?
The usual Sunday night cable lineup. I'm not hating on True Detective, though I do find it pretentious. The Spoils Before Dying was hilarious. Hannibal is my primary TV jam, and I'm trying not to mourn prematurely when it has so much joy left to give us. Halt and Catch Fire is so much better this season.

What are you writing, writing related activities, and/or editing? How is that going?
My writing is confined to songs at the moment, and they're killer. Write, arrange, record, mix, repeat.

Do you have any other creative projects in other formats?
Yes. Per above, I'm almost done with the album that's been my sole obsession (our weekly podcast aside) for the past nine months, and I can't wait for people to hear it, soonishly.

Why aren't you getting more done with it (in general, not this very second)?
I've been extremely productive with it. Almost daily. It's not like fiction writing where I can only work in chunks of like an hour at a time. When I'm recording or tone-chasing, I'll look up and four hours have vanished just like that.

Anything you know and want to share with us?
Paul Shaffer wrote "It's Raining Men."
Also, I tried Chocodile Twinkies in a pudding cake the other day, and it was brilliant. The chocolate shells keep their spongecake inside from getting soggy.

What is the best thing you can say about Ryan Shawn Mooney (a.k.a. R.Moon)?
I didn't know him well—mainly from the WAR competitions and Facebook—but I guess just the fact that he contributed here and shared his creativity with us.

What are you reading? How is it?

Right now trying to decide between Matilda or finishing Charlottes Web. Charlottes Web is good, though in one case where he used when instead of was took bit a bit out of the book.

What uncommon writing tools, websites, and what not are you using? How are they helping you?

At the moment I'm learning Ruby programming. I find going back to my game design roots, and learning what makes codes work helps me look at macro issues in my short fiction.

What other music, shows, movies, or various media are you into? How are they?

I barely listen to music, don't watch movies except in theaters, and mostly play visual novels.

What are you writing, writing related activities, and/or editing? How is that going?

I'm working on some new magical realism stories as well as a larger saga regarding a new baddie I am experimenting with.

Do you have any other creative projects in other formats?

I recently finished making some text-based adventures.

Why aren't you getting more done with it (in general, not this very second)?

More reasons than I can count.

Anything you know and want to share with us?

Not particularly, I prefer to discuss myself at Diaspora, Red Matrix, Libertree, Media Goblin, and Puppity.

What is the best thing you can say about Ryan Shawn Mooney (a.k.a. R.Moon)?

It is unfortunate I never met him, he will be missed.
