Trying to research specific effects of gunshots on different parts of the body i.e. how much damage would a specific calliber or type of shotgun shell cause at point blank range. Anyone have any good online resources? Or does anyone work in that industry (coroner, medical field, EMT, etc.) that I could pm?
i know from doing a lot of research into crimes, forensics, and people who thought they were commiting the perfect murder, googling this stuff can land you in prison.... if someone close to you suddenly gets shot.
Josef, let me get back to you tomorrow, I think I know a forum where ballistics and wounding were discussed in excruciating detail.
what, you don't trust CSI or Dexter?
This is how much damage a 12-gauge police-issued shotgun will do to a head from ten feet.
Of course, a zombie's head is probably a little softer than ours. And ours probably isn't a baloon with a face painted on it.
Okay, we need a favorite horror movie scenes thread.
Google from a public computer, duh. The community college is right up the road.

A subforum at m4carbine.net dedicated to terminal ballistics (lethality). There's so much info there browse around a bit, check the stickies, or try a search with your specific terms. Good luck, let me know if that helps.
I'f I were you, I'd just sedate some people in bars, get a van and shoot them. In fact, I have a list of names you could start on.
I've been doing some field research for my book. It's quite riveting.
So I did this and got a bunch of good results.
The very first is a pdf titled Practical Pathology of Gunshot Wounds that might help you a lot
