ENTP, here. I'm just wondering about the rest of you.
A link to one of many tests: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp
I got the same answer from this test as I did from its lengthier sibling in high school. Hopefully, it's as accurate for everybody.
Says I'm an ENFP. Means I'm an extrovert who's intuitive who's all about the feelings and perception. Says I might want to be a journalist, musician or a writer or a social worker. I've done all those things in some capacity. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I've got no use for math or science. Entirely overrated.
chaotic neutral
INFJ for me! They say I'm a doer and a dreamer and I take too much responsibility, and I'm empathetic and I can be a writer.
Cool test.
INTJ.
Tony, you say yours has been the same since high school? For some of us, that's like twenty years, and that's about how long I've gotten the same answer whenever I've taken one of these. Did Jung think we are hardwired into our types? It certainly appears so.
Mine said RAPIST.
Mine said RAPIST.
His said RAPIST?
I'm an INTP, and God, am I sick of my INTJ husband going on about these things. There are some funny YouTube videos for each type, though.
If you think it ends with the four letters, you are in for a long, dull journey, full of shadow types and functions.
On the other hand, my childhood wish of being a mad scientist is now completely justified.
It said my career choice should be a blacksmith or town crier.
That's therapist, Sean Connery.
S Words
"An analyst AND a therapist...the worlds first analrapist!"
ESTP, and me coming up opposite everyone else is about what I expected.
Sorry I missed these posts. I was just out in the hall analraping Gob.
ISTJ
I don't think it means what I think it means.
INTJ
I should be a lawyer or a librarian?
^ neat, Avery. INTJ is one of two rarest types. My weirdness respects your weirdness.
INFP
"If INTPs aspire to word mechanics, INFPs would be verbal artists." Yay!!!
The rest of the description sounds like Hell. I can relate to it.
INFP!
Introvert(44%) iNtuitive(50%) iNtuitive Feeling(38%) Perceiving(28)%
You have moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion (44%)
You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (50%)
You have moderate preference of Feeling over Thinking (38%)
You have moderate preference of Perceiving over Judging (28%)
Whichever one is too lazy to take that test.
INFJ but I don't believe it. I feel like this changes every time I take it.
Though I can see the similarities between myself and Carrie Fisher (but Mel Gibson? WTF? now I just want to hit something—oh).
INFJ
Introvert(56%) iNtuitive(25%) iNtuitive Feeling(12%) Judging(44%)
•You have moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion (56%)
•You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (25%)
•You have slight preference of Feeling over Thinking (12%)
•You have moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving (44%)
Ahem. As I said, Mel Gibson.
HAHAHA, that was perfect.
Emma, believe it or not we are soulmates. Cause that's what I got too.
I fundamentally disagree with binary personality trait categories.
[such a J]
Oh I didn't notice Jesus was in there too. So yeah, me too. And Carrie Fisher also.
INFP
No idea what that means. I'll have to 'google' it.
@TK --- I started it, but I can't do those kind of questions. I also suck at job questionnaires, those strongly/somewhat // agree/disagree things. This probably pegs me as one letter or another.
Here's a short phrase for you all to cogitate on: "fungible cogs".
It's so much harder to control a populace that questions what it sees and hears and challenges established ideas.
"Fungible Cogs" would be a good Devo cover band.
"I'm not really into Devo, but I dig Fungible Cogs."
Apparently I'm ENTP, Extravert(1%) iNtuitive(38%) Thinking(100%) Perceiving(44%)
Tony Koval: Thanks for the invite. Will borrow helicopter for safer journey. Tea with milk, no sugar.
INTPs - We would take over the world, but we're too lazy.
My MBTI that took eight years ago (with a job-preference inventory) indicated I'm INTP. Strongly stacked on the introversion, intuition, and thinking but with only a slight leaning toward the perceiving over the judging.
Yes - INTPs stand behind the ESFJs that actually "rule" the world...we're the men/women behind the Man/Woman...
Thanks for the link to the test - my GF wants to take a free MBTI (mine was administered by pros at a state university who charged me $25).
Everyone's always been fascinated by my MBTI long-form and they agree with its validity (in my case) and usefulness, but no one wants to pay $25 to take their own...
Hmmmm....
Just took the 72-question test at the link. It scored me as INTJ this time...same strong leanings on the introversion, intuition, and thinking but now apparently I'm more judgemental than I was eight years ago...
From the test:
INTJ
Introvert(89%) iNtuitive(100%) Thinking(88%) Judging(33%)
You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion (89%)
You have strong preference of Intuition over Sensing (100%)
You have strong preference of Thinking over Feeling (88%)
You have moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving (33%)
INTP.
When can I cast Magic Missile?
Being surprised by seeing so many INTJ/P's in here is kinda like being surprised by all the crazy ladies at a cat convention, isn't it?
^ Yep (chortle). Also, since Carl Jung was catagorized as INTP, I've often suspected that the MBTI tests were crafted by fellow INTP/Js and therefore some "test bias" or other type of bias throws up a lot of INTP/Js...
Also, I think INTP/Js would be the sort most likely to get excited by taking the MBTI. They're the types who get excited by systems and theories....

Interesting to see the estimated distribution of personality types.
ENFJ
Extravert(78%) iNtuitive(75%) iNtuitive Feeling(75%) Judging(1%)
You have strong preference of Extraversion over Introversion (78%)
You have distinctive preference of Intuition over Sensing (75%)
You have distinctive preference of Feeling over Thinking (75%)
You have marginal or no preference of Judging over Perceiving (1%)
I'm almost certain I got a different result the last time I took this, but I do think I have had some major shifts in my life/perception in the last couple years so that could be why. I do think it's odd that a 1% preference still gets a J over a P, rather than say, an N for Neutral.
I've taken this a few times, and my P and J switch often. I just don't think they wrote it to be able to include neutrals. Everyone hates neutrals.
Ah, but I hate unsubstantiated labels, too.
^ Oh, the one thing I tell people about Jung's personality types is that this four-letter designation is just a "compass reading" of the way your mind is most comfortable working - everyone has introversion and extroversion and sensation and intuition and thinks and feels and judges and perceives...but this MBTI just shows your typical "bearings" as you navigate decisions.
I find it useful for the "blind spots" that show in the analysis of each type. I already know my preferences - I guess I want to know what I may be missing...
(GF took this MBTI yesterday and we discovered that she is an ISFJ to my INTP - I told her she's my complement)
^ neat, Avery. INTJ is one of two rarest types. My weirdness respects your weirdness.:
How did I miss this! It's about my favorite subject, ME! INTJ.
I can't say I'm surprised the interwebs are crawling with us. I think we determined that Averydoll and I are essiently the opposite gender version of ourselves. Weird ass judgy people. Also stop talking so damn much.
