It occurs to me that we haven't made photo discussions around here yet. So I'm making the first one.

Let's see what you're up to, people!

I'm drinking coffee.

Ooooh LitReactor coffee mug!

Let's see if I can drag myself through the jetlag and get a picture of me drinking my 3rd glass of wine...4th glass? Well, I keep refilling it before it is empty so...

@Kirk: Dude, that mug of coffee and that sandwich would make my morning. Well, that along with Brandon's signed Assassin of Secrets, Martin's cute pooty tat, Renee's glasses of rouge and Avery's Twix collection.

@Mutter: That is a big Schwanz. I want one for my lawn art collection.

@Phil: You handsome little bear, you. Is that in Switzerland?

@Renee That is a "Brunch Burger" from one of my favorite local places Duke's Ale House http://www.thedukeabides.com Grass-fed beef Topped with Slagel Farms Bacon, smoked cheddar, jalapenos, and fried egg

The egg is what nails it out of the park.

@Phil: The background gave it away. Lucky fucker. I was in Châtel for Christmas last year. Wish I was there. The best place on the planet for Christmas.

Have a good one.

@Kirk--man, I have been planning a trip to IL for some years (stuff just keeps falling through) how far is that from Aurora/Chicago?

I can't see Nick's photo.

I love Phil's photos. They give him away--you can tell he's a big, goofy sweetheart.

Depending on where about in Aurora, you would probably be looking at an hour drive to get out to Crystal Lake. But if you like craft beer, and you have the time Duke's is worth the trip. If you're going to be in Chicago (as in not Aurora :P) I would highly suggest these 2 places.

The Publican - The food is incredible and not the sort of stuff you likely eat often. Though to best enjoy it, you need to be adventerous. Duck Hearts? Yep, on the menu. They even have an entire section of the menu that is just the hams they make. Make reservations, the place is one of the best in Chicago.

Smoque - Likely the best BBQ in the city. They don't take reservations, the line will likely be out the door. But go, wait in line and EAT. It's not somewhere you go to have a nice dinner. When you get seated, it is your job to eat your delicious BBQ as quickly as possible then get the fuck out. Try the brisket and get a side of sausage. They've even been on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

Hot Doug's - For a proper hot dog and fries that are fried in duck fat!

Or, if you want a good time, go to Wiener's Circle after the bars close and the place gets insane.

@Kirk, my main plan is for Chicago, but all my familial relations are in Aurora. I'm taking notes...the thought of fries in duck fat is making my mouth water.

@Nick--yay! I can see the dog now.

Just fascinating stuff, really. Now I'm sure you know all this already but I'm posting this for other people who maybe also haven't heard of this case.

By the way, that Lethem article linked within is also cool.

I need a drink.
