Hi everyone! I'm new here.

I was published in a local college magazine when I was 17, which was several lifetimes ago, and was poetry. I only recently have been interested in getting back into writing, though I know poetry isn't a popular read. I've branched out into articles and short fiction and hoping to get published again, though so far my few attempts have been unsuccessful.

I'm excited to join this writing community and hope to make some friends!

Welcome. I think poetry is going to make a bit of a comeback. I did a guest speaker thing for a writer's group at a local high school. When I asked what they wrote, over half of the kids were writing poetry.

Thanks Jack! I think that's promising, but I wonder if they're also reading poetry or just writing it?

Hello, people! I'm new to this site, too. I'm hoping that through hard work, dedication, and the influx of hipsters who feel rhyming is too mainstream, we will be experiencing a haiku renaissance in the near future.
