Yeah but some men let them get a little too long, or don't care if they are jagged, you know? 27 Hours of finger blasting, that kind of stuff becomes important.

1. Are you alive? ~ It would seem so.

2. Your views on fireworks? ~ If you're unlucky enough to get dodgy ones for a few years running you spent the whole event flinching and tensed to break into a run back to the safety of the house... so yes, they scare me.

3. What song makes you cry?  You know there is one - stop lying. ~ No song by itself makes me cry, it's the emotions I'm feeling or the crap I'm dealing with that triggers it. I have cried at a lot of songs, quite often when singing them, yes this probably makes me sad, but I wear my heart on my sleeve.

4. What did you eat for dinner last night? ~ jacket potato with grated cheese and spaghetti hoops on top, served with slices of pizza and salad.

5. Are you doing any home renovations? ~ Could do with redecorating but, oh you need money for that...

6. What's your favorite musical instrument? ~ Guitar (sometimes I almost convince myself I can play)

7. What's your favorite book that involves an animal? ~ The Deptford Mice Trilogy & Histories by Robin Jarvis ~ Black magic, brutal murders, cults, woodland animal, death and romance - awesome kids books that I have adored since I was ten.

8. What is the best time of day to read? ~ anytime you can, but I always read at night.

9. Hot out there, amirite? ~ England is still waiting for its summer to arrive :(

I didn't like Wizard and The Glass at first but it grew on me. I realized that it was a beautiful story. It has it's faults but most of King's books do. In the King fault sort of fashion.

Except for the Bachman books. Those were the shit.

I thought The Long Walk was your favorite by King? That's a Bachman book.

And yeah, I agree that Wizard and Glass was a beautiful story, I just didn't want all of that in the middle of this other story about the NEW group of people. I trudged through it, waiting to get back to the Ka-Tet, rather than enjoying it. I might like it if I took it out of the series. That's an idea.

Profunda Saint-... from Calgary, AB is reading Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy Series July 4, 2012 - 6:13pm

Firstly, the piano player. He's awesome. I don't think I could handle 27 hours of finger blasting, but only because I'm too damn busy. Maybe once I stop going to my job...

Secondly, Renee:

Once I stopped to explain something and said "I want to explain this so you don't think you accidently married a crazy person" and he replied, "It wasn't an accident."

That is probably the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to anyone.

Thirdly:

1. Are you alive?
Seemingly so.

2. Your views on fireworks?
Disenchanted. I tried to watch them from my roof on Sunday night. I was too short to get up on my roof without assistance.

3. What song makes you cry?  You know there is one - stop lying.
Rainy Night in Soho (Shane MacGowan) sometimes does it if I'm in a 'mood'. Otherwise Motorhead's Ain't No Nice Guy does it every time.

4. What did you eat for dinner last night?
Last night was a real red letter dinner. I steamed some broccoli and carrots. That's all. Suffice to say the kid was not to pleased with me.

5. Are you doing any home renovations?
Renovations aren't maybe the right word, but reorganizing and medium level redecoration, certainly. Renting makes me not want to put a lot of money into investing in badly needed new linoleum and whatnot.

6. What's your favorite musical instrument?
To play, guitars or drums. To listen to, I love pianos, banjos, mandolins, fiddles, harpsichord, organ... OK fine, I just like all of it.

7. What's your favorite book that involves an animal?
Probably The Little Prince. Many rousing games of "Sheep in a box, sheep not in a box" have resulted from that book. (BTW, Bek: I LOVED BUNNICULA! My childhood bunny was named after him)

8. What is the best time of day to read?
When I'm supposed to be at work, but am not.

9. Hot out there, amirite?
It's only been warm for a couple weeks here, but I still managed to burn the shit out of my entire back. Unpleasant. But I love the sun.

10. Any vacation plans? (I know I asked that last month, but I don't care)
Goin' to Winnipeg.

Finally:
I haven't watched The Gumby Movie in about 25 years. Until right now. It's creepy as hell.

Case in point: An old lady is crying next to a mailbox. Gumby gets out of the car and asks "Did you get hit by a car?"

WTF. I love Gumby.

I got a job! Sorta. It's not proper employment, but it's good till I get a full time thing.

1. Are you alive?

Yep. Unless this is Hell, which means I'm dead, and Hell isn't all that bad.

2. Your views on fireworks?

They're smelly and loud, and best enjoyed from inside my apartment. Unless I'm in Anaheim, which means Fireworks are best enjoyed in Disneyland!

3. What song makes you cry?  You know there is one - stop lying.

Being a girl, I have a few that make me cry. The first is "Baby Don't Cry" by Daesung, but only when witnessed live/in concert on DVD. (This one is the one I'm most embarassed about, but whatever.) The second is "So far Away" by Stabbing Westward. Currently, the third one is "Luna," a song off the Casshern Sins OST. (I'm listening to it now, and it pulls at my heart.)  I have more, but for now, these will have to do.

4. What did you eat for dinner last night?

I was going to make steak, but ended up eating a scrambled egg on a baked potato. Sounds weird, I know, but it's one of my favorite quick meals. Cheese and ketchup optional!

5. Are you doing any home renovations?

Not renovations, but this summer my roommates and I will be redecorating our living room. We're tossing out the couch, buying bean bags from lovesac, investing in a new television, and rearranging our leftover furniture. We're hoping this will promote a more positive flow of energy through our apartment, which would help to wash out the stagnant and negative energy we have swirling around (it's causing a lot of passive aggression and alienation between us) and get us to hang out more. Currently we all hide in our bedrooms.

6. What's your favorite musical instrument?

The violin. I know, that sounds so typical! But when I hear someone play the violin live, I cry. I can't help it! My favorite instrument to play is the piano, though.

7. What's your favorite book that involves an animal?

Does How to Train Your Dragon count?

8. What is the best time of day to read?

I like reading on my commute, but sometimes I curl up before bed with a good book.

9. Hot out there, amirite?

I live in Colma. It's always foggy and chilly here!

10. Any vacation plans? (I know I asked that last month, but I don't care)

Not for July, but I AM going to go see my favorite band ever this weekend. I'm scared because it's in a shitty part of the Bay, at night, and it's a rock show, and I'm going all alone... but there is no way in Hell I'd miss the opportunity to meet the man who has acted as my muse since I was 14!

Nice. I love them too, sort of. It's kind of a love-hate thing, same as I have with Death Cab for Cutie. I used to really love Death Cab but I can't listen to them almost at all anymore. I have Transatlanticism on my iPod and whenever anything comes up I start bawling like an idiot. It ruins me.

5. Are you doing any home renovations?

So while I was digging a hole beside my house to plant my shrub, I noticed the ground was really wet.  I didn't think it should be.  Turns out, it was because the access plug to the drain under my kitchen sink, which is on the outside of my house, was off.  Something I should have noticed when I bought the house.  Something my inspector should have noticed.  Of course, the reason it was open was that the sink would not drain otherwise. The people who lived here before me left that plug out so their sink and dishwasher and garbage disposal could drain right out into the yard.

So about an hour ago I put a drain snake to it and opened up the plug.  But I found another plug a few feet beyond that one.  So I run my drain snake some more and I pull up dirt.  Sandy dirt.  Because the fucking pipe under my house is broken.  Not the pipe in my crawlspace.  The drain pipe under my foundation slab.

I want to kick somebody in the nuts right now.  I'm not too discriminate about whom.  Just wanna nut-shot somebody.
