I have a question: I'm swedish and I prefer to write in my native language. Is there a subforum for writing in other languages or do people in my position tend to translate their work?

No, no subforum, people usually translate.
Although, you know, we're starting to get a solid influx (IDK, 3 - 5) of people from Sweden. You could definitely seek them out and start a subforum. The rest of us would know to stay away because the only way we'd be able to communicate would be through LOLcats pictorials.
Ocasionally someone like myself may come in there and string sweedish words together I learned from several others' posts with no context thus leading you all to wonder if I'm joking arround or just mentally handicapped.

Hi, my native language is dutch so i kinda have the same problem as you. But it all depends on how well your english is. If it's really good, you will be able to write in english, if it's not, like my english, you will fail miserably. Good luck... a swedish subforum sounds like a good idea . bye

There are a number of cost effective translation services. Check out http://odesk.com, http://www.elance.com and http://fiverr.com.
Hint: Do a small amount first, and then have someone translate it back to your native language.
Hint 2: Be very wary of automated translation services that use websites.

Like Utah said, there's a few Swedes on here. I can't really think of any besides myself and Klahol atm, but there's probably more. If you're just looking to talk about writing, I think it'd better to include the Anglo-Saxons and other non-natives, i.e. join the general conversation. As far as I know, the non-natives on here (that are active in the workshop) all write in English. I absolutely think you should try either writing something new in English, or translating (manually) some of your Swedish stuff into English and submit it to the workshop. If you want to write in Swedish, however, it seems unnecessary to go through the hassle of translating texts just to get them critiqued. I'm not in the loop as a far as Swedish language workshops go, but there's bound to be some around. Either way, I hope you stick around.
