Hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself to the community and make my official first mark on the site.

My name is Ric, 33, and I live in the greater Los Angeles area. I work a full-time job, and I'm also a full-time student at the University of La Verne. I'm an English Major, and I'll be finishing up this year. I was a late bloomer on the educational aspect of my life, but there are no regrets. You learn so much from experiencing the world, and I appreciate my education so much more for it.

Like everyone here, my goal is to write full-time, but I also want to teach Creative Writing as well. I'm still very much a student of the craft and will be for the rest of my life, but I love writing, I love reading about writing, and I love talking about writing.

I joined LitReactor because I've been wanting a community where I can share my work and learn from reading all of yours. Critiquing and being critiqued is invaluable, and it has helped me improve so much through the years. I have an endless list of skills that need improving and from looking around the forums I know I've come to the right place. Courtney's intro thread was very helpful, and I've made sure to understand how to critique submitted work properly.

I'm super excited to be here and can't wait to get to know all of you.

Thanks!

Welcome to the pit.

I too was a late bloomer. Just keep moving forward, and don't take yourself too seriously. Make sure you keep enjoying it.

Look forward to seeing you around.

Hi. Gail here. Welcome. Nice to have you here. Rock and Roll and write like crazy. As far as being a late bloomer, I have bloomed and died many times.

Sounds like you're in the right place. Welcome.

Rather than write my own I thought I'd add to this one, both to say hello to Ric and cast my own net out. So, howdy. I'm based in the UK, terrified about uploading my own writing - but kinda determined to do it anyway.

And if you think that Rik is a late bloomer, I've got +10 years on him!

Nice to meet you all...

Welcome, Pete. No judgment about coming into the game later. I went through puberty when I was 19. No foolin'.

Welcome Ric and Pete :)

Also Gail: "I have bloomed and died many times." <- I love this line, you should definitely sneak it into a story somewhere!

Hi Pete. Welcome. Thanks for your review. I am taking a break from reviewing, but when I begin again I will reciprocate. I really do appreciate your giving me your thoughts. I have been off-site for a number of days,so i was slow to respond to your review. I am travelling.

@voodeoo_em. Thanks...I like that line too. I will consider your suggestion.
