Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to say hello. I joined the site a while back to peruse, but now have opted to get more involved. I'll be taking a class in September and look forward to talking and possibly working with some of you on various writing-related endeavors.
Right now, I'm looking to improve my work habits and daily output in order to be more productive. I love writing, but I end up putting it off for so many other things (work, family, etc.) and I end up only writing in little spurts here and there. In my profile, I said my genre is horror; but I tend more toward the weird and odd than the gory. I also write the occasional "mainstream"/non-genre kind of short story.
Again, I look forward to meeting new folks here and improving my writing.
All the best,
Dave B.
Post a paragraph!
Also, I'm always curious: how'd you find the place?
Hi Dave. Gail here. Welcome here. Or welcome back I guess. Nice to meet you.
Welcome and happy writing.
Welcome!
Which class are you signed up for?
Welcome to the pit.
Welcome D.W. Gail here. Great to have you on board.
EDIT
...
(the hell just happened, why'd I post here?)
Hi everyone.
I'm Vickie, from the Caribbean island of Dominica(the english speaking small mountainous island). I am interested in writing - so far i've written poems and working on a story. I'm also doing an online course and will be doing a few more. I have writing as a past time & hobby but i think its time i build on this skill. Found this site via a facebook post in a group which i'm a part of.
Hoping to meet new friends here who'll encourage & help me hone my skill along. I would love to improve my writing and become a better writer.
Thanks anyways, in advance for your friendship and advice.
All the best.

Hi Vickie. Gail here. Welcome to the "Lit". I highly recommend the WRiter's Workshop and all the great craft essays on this site. Look inot everything, and have fun. Glad to have you on board.
@vickie aka natureislove
what's your story about?
Welcome Vickie,
This site has a Writers Workshop. It costs about $45 for a six month membership. You can post your story there and get helpful, constructive feedback designed to make your story better.
There are also many great classes on this site. For short stories, one of the best is Short Story Mechanics with Richard Thomas. This class is offered about once every 90 days and tends to fill up quickly, so plan to register early. Taking this class will give you the tools needed to construct the type of short stories that keep readers interested and coming back fror more.
Good luck!
