I love the site so far, so I thought I would say hi.
I found this place because I am a fan of Chuck Palahniuk on Facebook.
I started out in journalism and screenwriting, but these days I spend most of my time writing fiction. I've written approximately fifty short stories and finished the first draft of my first novel in November. I blog a lot on my own site and a collaborative site for a writer's group in which I am involved.
I mostly write what a writer I know called rural gothic tragedy. I've joked with friends that if I wrote a picture book, the protagonist would die at the end. It probably stems from my belief that you only find out a person's true character when bad things happen.
I tend to write somewhat lyrically. I love playing with word sounds, sentence structure, and the relationship between phrases.
I hope this site will help my continued development and education as a writer.
Thanks for being here.
Hello!
Nice to meet you.
I too favor the bummer endings.
"If you want a happy ending that depends of course on where you stop your story." -Orson Welles
Fifty short stories sounds impressive, any chance of seeing you in the workshop?
Hey bud, welcome. I found the site thanks to Chuck as well! Also, rural gothic tragedy sounds pretty damn awesome, wouldn't mind reading some!
Welcome! Soon Dave will be along to give you the proper welcome wagon stuff.
Make yourself at home. The fourth rule of LitReactor is, Avery always wins.
Welcome!
Your middle initial wouldn't be "W." would it? ["Who Goes There?" John W. Campbell, Jr.?]
It's okay, I'm here now. Without further ado,
Welcome to the Lit. Have fun no matter what else you do.
There, you're official.
I also extend a hearty hand of welcome from Dave.
I write erotic grotesque stories like women with three nipples and babies with sharp teeth. Welcome!
I'm the local LitR creeper saying hello and you've just been creeped.
PS: Avery does not always win, we just don't bother fighting her any more.
Dear person who did not turn in his competition piece on time: You really want to go there?
.....no....
I would concur with Joe.
