Hello, my name is Brenda. This will probably be one of the few times I post in the forums. I love books & writing but I'm horrible at both. Yes, it is possible to be horrible at books. Trust me. I love being around writers and storytellers. The Moth is one of my favorite podcasts. Anyone else listen to it? Good stuff. Well, mostly I'm just here to observe. Hopefully I'll put in more time this year in writing and I'll get the guts to submit some of it for critiques. Cheers!

And a Texan replies. Awesome! Light biting is ok. I'm not into leaving marks of any kind or breaking the skin. Thank you for the welcome. :)

Nice to meet you.

I've never heard of The Moth but looked it up and it sounds interesting. I think I'll give it a shot. I listen to a ton of podcasts some of my favorites are:

  • Dan Carlin's Hardcore History
  • Skeptoid
  • Startalk
  • 99% Invisible
  • Whisper Cities
  • A Life Well Wasted

Wow. Two cool welcomes. I just downloaded Hardcore History and Skeptoid. Hopefully I'll have time tomorrow at work to listen to an episode for each. Thank you again for the welcome! :)

Hardcore History is exactly what the name would have you expect. Dan will take these deep-dives into a historical topic and really give you an interesting perspective. It's also not uncommon for him to put out a 5 hour podcast and it sounds like whatever he is just about to release is going to be an epic episode.

Skeptoid is the podcast I look forward to listening to most each week. If you like it, certainly download them all and start from episode 1.

I'll probably listen to The Moth in the car tomorrow sounds like it would itch the scratch I often have while driving.

Hey, Brenda! Welcome no# 3.

Why not jump in the forums more? If you love books, writers, and storytellers, then there is plenty of good chat going down for you there.

If you do get serious about the submitting then the workshop is a lot of fun.

Take care.

Welcome! I don't much like forums either but this has enough crazy people to keep me entertained.

We need more mindless conversation.  People are getting too quiet around here.  I like to read 30 nonsensical posts a day!

Welcome!  We can usually keep a thread on topic for about ten posts or so.  Then it's still on a topic somehow related to the original topic, but not really on topic.  Then...well...you know.

@Kirk, listened to most of an episode of Hardcore History...I'm really digging it. Haven't had a chance to try Skeptoid yet.

@Everyone else: Thank you for the welcomes. I tend to lay low cos I'm always light years behind on what everyone is watching and listening to, especially TV shows. I usually wait till they're out on DVD or streaming on Netflix. But anyways, I will do my best to be more social. Hope everyone had a great week and let's hope for a great weekend. Later gators!
