In high school there was a guy we called biscuit. It wasn't of his own free will though. I mean, I think he would have rather we didn't call him that.
I think I've seen you DJ under the name - Bizzzzz Kut (but I may be wrong about that)..........
Well Biscuit Welsh is a pen name. In real life I'm a software executive in a rather stodgy industry. In the past I've done things like
- been a carney
- made snow professionally
- been a cook
- been a criminal
- had my face broken with brass knuckles
- attempted to beat a man to death with an axe handle
- been active duty military
- quit drinking (28 years+ ODAAT)
- designed weapons simulator systems (B-52's)
- created expert systems to administer welfare benefits
- created systems that do securities trading
- created systems that run specialty retail shops and make credit decisions
I've been married 3 times-- the third seems to have stuck. I have one child (a fourteen year old girl). I am first generation Irish, a smartass, a cycnic, an atheist with faith and a bunch of other seemingly contradictory stuff. I'm not burdened with self-doubt, easy guilt or the need to have someone else make me feel real.
The original Biscuit Welsh was a lunatic in from my mother's village in the west of Ireland-- during full moons he'd ring the church bells all night long. It seemed to fit.
I've finished the first draft of my novel Honcho-- I can best describe the genre as hardboiled YA-- and am in revision. Agent interest so far has been good.
