its about a boy who is extremely smart and his parents die so he inherits alot off money and stuff, he builds something that helps him find this fairy world, he also has a body gaurd, thats all i really remember.
Sounds like the Artemis Fowl series.
Sounds like my life, except for the bit about the parents dying, and inheriting anything, or the fairy world, or the body guard. Otherwise, it's spot on.
