When it comes to gaming, I've got a Ps3 at the moment, however I've been growing out of my gaming lately, it seems. I still play every now and then and love the following games:

  • Dead Space (currently, I'm still breaking the limbs off of number one.)
  • Bejeweled 3 (I'm a wicked puzzle wiz!)
  • Tetris
  • Red Dead Redemption
  • Fable 1, 2,and 3
  • Any game from the Fighting genre where I can kick somebody else's ass up and down an abandoned subway, or down a flight of well-carpeted stairs (yes, I'm talking about you, Mortal Kombat.)
  • Alice: Madness Returns
  • Several others, as well

In case anybody's interested, I'm always on the lookout for other female gamers to game with! = )

Oh, food for ponder...

Does anybody remember the game ShadowMan for N64? It scared me silly when I was eight; how about you?

I'm playing Batman: Arkham City, Dead Island, I got You Don't Know Jack and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, Skyrim for Xmas. I don't remember Shadowman but I do like Dead Space and Alice: Madness Returns.  I've yet to collect all the pig snouts.

Those pig snouts are very tough to find! I often find myself walking around like a drone; with the pepper grinder in my hands for ten minutes before finding most of them.

Did you happen to beat Dead Island yet?

No, not yet.  I'm actually finding it a little tedious.  It's the same zombies constantly.  My wife suggested that the creators based the female zombies after their ex-gfs because they keep showing up over and over and you have to beat them to death.

The thing that bugs me the most about Dead Island is its flat, atrocious story. It takes some real courage to put up with it through the whole game ha ha! = )

I love the original rap song at the beginning of the game, "Who do you voodoo bitch?" I was like wtf?  It's like Hip Hop Island versus the Zombies.

Not to mention some of the missions were ridiculous like getting beer for the dude in the shack so he helps you.

I'm not a devoted gamer but, for anyone who appreciates story, I can't recommend the Assassin's Creed series enough.

I know it's a very popular series but I didn't want it to go unmentioned.

I'm with Hobo... Assassin's Creed is the only game I've ever beat. Ever. I just don't game.

Hitman.  Civilization 3 (4 and 5 kinda suck). Dwarf Fortress. Team Fortress 2.

Reasons:

Hitman- Better than assassin's creed, because it's more focused, more difficult, gives you so many more options, and sure, it's ugly, but it's tense, psychopathic, and when you win, you don't just feel fulfilled. You feel fucking smart.

Civ 3- Doesn't get better than playing as the Aztecs, and then nuking the Spanish, Or as the Mongols, and reaching Alpha Centauri. Sure this game is old, but by god, it's a part of my childhood.

DF- Minecraft with complexity to the billionth power. The best of the best in city-building sims. Ultra confusing. Vertical learning curve. And....zombie slugman eyeball stew. One of the many, many, many things you can make. This game is VERY ugly, but there's this charm to it you can't find anywhere else. It's also for free.

TF2- Cartoony graphics, yes. Mercy....you're fucking kidding, right? Miniguns? But of course.

The Uncharted series for PS3 is amazing. The storyline is great, the voice acting isn't as atrocious as one usually hears in a game, and by the Gods is it pretty. Highly recommend.

I'm deep in Skyrim on Xbox, but seeing this mod makes me wish I was playing it on PC.
