From Solarcide
COMING IN 2013
Presenting–the newest anthology project from Solarcide. A bona-fide flash fiction adventure of the most sinful and decadent design.
Featuring one of our closest allies as co-editor, the man who first created the Flash Me! monthly competition at the LitReactor Forums, the very minister of exposing oneself in word form; Mr Chester Pane™.
Flash Me! began life as monthly public polls to decide the most deadly flashery amongst the entrants. For more than a year it was THE place to open your literary raincoat and show the world what you had. Now it rears its head again, this time in a new form. This anthology is to be a collision of decadence and shorter word-count fiction.
This project is open to public submission. Over the coming weeks we will be seeking to gather flashes from many different authors, and we will be compiling the best into what we have deemed The Sinthology. Once complete the collection will be released as our very first print publication. Needless to say, we are rather excited about this prospect.
The theme is sin. The execution is sin. Flash Me! IS sin.
We’d love it if you take part.
Show us what you got!
If you are interested in submitting to this project, then you should head over to the Submissions Guidelines page (copied into the next post here) for all the grizzly details. I have created this thread here at Litreactor for discussion on Flash Me! and The Sinthology. The Flash Me! gig was born entirely of Chester's passion and the LitReactor community, and it will never truly move out of its first home.
I'm so in.
I'm going to try this. I've been getting the hang of flash in WAR, so hopefully I can put my mind of work and get a 1000 word story over to you guys.
Bek, "Sin" is kinda right up your alley, isn't it? :)
Regardless if I'm able to submit anything, and whether it's even accepted, I WANT THAT BOOK ON MY SHELF!* gimmegimmegimmegimme
*for the awesome content it's going to have, of course...
Already have a few ideas for this, so I'd love to try my hand at actually submitting something for publication. Shall be a new adventure for me!
I just want everyone to know that I slept with Martin to get my name on the affiche.
I just want everyone to know that Chester's post could be referred to as a: "Martin Score-Says-He."
Shut this thread down, people. The jokes won't get any better than that! :)
Writing... writing... writing... flashing!
Submitted. I sincerely hope I get in this one. :)
I'm reading an instructional book on how to write flash fiction with a study group here on LitReactor. Hopefully one of the writing exercises can help me produce something great enough to send your way. As soon as I have some new/good material I will definitely do that.
Down and dirty, hmm? Did you make a video? The scandal could be good for publicity.
Did I submit to this? I hope I did. If I didn't, then I'll have to write something new because I want in.
It's coming. Just finished a long-ish short story, and my next week is dedicated solely to my pervy piece.
I had an idea for a piece I think will be good for this. First it has to get written though.
If my flash efforts weren't so atrocious, I would have submitted something. I want to get that flash book everyone's reading for that class Carly started. Sadly there's no electronic version and I travel too much to get anything posted to me.
I submitted.
Is there a deadline for this? I'm working on something right now. I know you like micro some I'm shooting for 250-500.
@Jess: You cannot NOT try this!
@wickedvoodoo: How are you re: multiple submissions?
Wicked i wanted to send something but I have been slammed at work. I have not even done my normal flash stuff. I NEED A BREAK from work so I can write.....
Edit
I totally misread that to say the end of Friday not the end of February, which means I have more time than I though. I aim to finish tonight, anyway. And then probably look over it on Friday and send it your way. Thanks,
--JR--
The deadline for this baby is approaching!
I finally wrote a story for this, my first post-WAR2 effort. Gonna do some edits but I'll have it in by the deadline!
Submitted something.
I'll be sending you something sexy soon, Martin!
Shit, I might send another in that case. This is fun!
Really glad to hear about the extension. I've already submitted one, but the sin theme has a thousand places it could go, so I'm looking forward to submitting a couple more!
Man, I just saw this. So in.
Okay, I have a question...Is the picture in the initial post really the cover? Or is that just a picture, much like the "expose yourself to art" photo, just there as an attention grabber? I've been meaning to ask for a while, but, well, I guess I just didn't.
I totally saw the actual photo the other night. Tits and all. Just browsin' Tumblr. It was there.
You could always like...do a call out for cover models...
Or have a cover-art competition?
Oh, good idea, Dino!
Sourcing images for this kind of project is always iffy. For all the "preview" images I do for the stories on my site, I usually use a site called sxc.hu, which is a free stock photo site. Over the years their selection has dropped a bit, because of course most people want to get paid for their work, but for the most part it works. Most photos are fine for general use, but photographers tend to want a heads up if you're using it for a project you're hoping to profit on.
As for more "adult-themed" stock photos, I wouldn't exactly know where to start...
Would it be cool if I gave a cover a shot? If it's something the good people at Solarcide like, I'm happy with just credit.
Issss it topless?
Also, I wouldn't mind doing some cover design for freeeeeeee. I like designing stuff.
As in me topless? No. But I do have other ideas. You should try it too! Be great to have some competition:)
What size should the cover image be? I thought I read somewhere that it was going to be a print book, but I don't remember...
Can we use a pseudonym for submitting?
