I haven't done one of these in a while and was curious. Who's seen the new X-Men Movie. Love it? Hate it? Like the direction the franchise is headed. Actually, feel free to discuss any of them. Even the Wolverine spin-offs. I'd love to know what everyone thinks.
Which is your favorite?
Do you like any of them at all?
Do you hate any of them?
I want to know.
DOFP was great. Loved how they basically pretended X3 never happened.
Both versions of the Sentinals were well done. Quicksilver stole the show. Dinklage was a little underwhelming compared to his work on GoT, but I'm glad he's doing more movies. Cuts between time periods really flowed well. I know there's a ton of fanboys bitching about how it should have been Kitty going back instead of Logan, but they need to get over it. At this point, I never expect an adaptation to stick exactly to the source material.
I felt like the younger versions of Xavier and Magneto really showed up their older counter-parts from an acting standpoint.
I loved Quicksilver (damn shame they don't have the same kid for Quicksilver in Avengers), and overall this and First Class are among my favorite superhero movies.
It's like Wolverine went back in time and destroyed The Last Stand. I am all for that.
By the way, as a Deadpool and Gambit fan, I have a love-hate relationship with X-Men Origins: Wolverine. On the plus side, its the only film depiction of Gambit. On the bad side...pretty much everything else. He's the merc with the mouth. How do you take his mouth away? It doesn't make any sense. Of course, neither did the rest of the movie.
I didn't like Taylor Kitsh either, but I was excited just to have Gambit in any form. I have high hopes for Tatum.
I'm excited about seeing this film.. I'm curious to see Jennifer Lawrence in it. I like her performance.
@Brandon: have you seen Peter D. in any other films? He's a great actor, versatile, can be funny, sexy, dramatic. Been following him since The Station came out.
How do you take his mouth away?
So I'll go see it, because Deadpool as a hero sucks.
@justwords
No, never seen him in anything else, and I have to admit, when I heard it was him who had been cast I didn't have anything good to say about it...and then when I saw him in costume for the first time I had more not so good things to say about it...then when I finally saw the movie, he was the best part of it. Kid proved a lot of people wrong.
You really should see some of his other films. There's a good one with Matthew McConaughey and Gary Oldman, "Tiptoes," in addition to "The Station Agent," "Death at a Funeral"---the English-made original, and "Pete Smalls is Dead." He really good. I think you'd like those films, or at least the majority of them.
Tiptoes? The dwarfs are people too but no one will admit it movie? You liked that?
I liked Gary Oldman in it (he plays a lot of weird roles), and Matthew McC's girlfriend. Yes, I liked the movie. It's not worthy of an Academy Award, but. I didn't think Matthew McC did a good job acting, but I think it was a challenge for him to play a part where he wasn't the pretty good ole boy, or the charmer hunk, and he took a chance. And I am big fan of PD's. :) I watch a lot films, I always have, for a lot of reasons.
I feel like I'm being trolled.
Just go with it Dwayne; it won't hurt a bit, I promise! Relax. Remember, it's just my opinion, which counts for nothing in the big scheme of things.
