Black coffee and ginger snaps. Now the cookie dough and beef jerky mentioned earlier, Those used to be big ones for me -especially the jerky, except those snacks put some serious miles on my waist size. Hence, why we can't play together anymore.

Ever since I went for an exploratory trip to the Asian grocer, I have a really weird and unending hunger for dried seaweed.

I've had to limit myself in case I overdose on salt - I don't know what kind of MSG magic is in some of those seaweed packets, but it's good.

Mini-Pretzels. Easy to eat, not too messy and, I have found that the recommended serving size of "19 pretzels" is actually enough to do the job so long as you don't stuff them in your face by the handful.

When I sit down, I hardly remember to eat or drink. I find it can be a distraction. I tend to forget to take care of myself when my mind gets worked into a frenzy.

If I do eat, it is anywhere from tea or beer or rum & coke with pretzel chips, Mike & Ikes or cocoa roasted almonds. Or I'll plough through from one meal to the next.

When I have company over they are often shocked "no snacks?"

Yes.

No chips, no dip, no meat substitute abominations, no vegetable platters, no nuts, no pretzels, no candy, candy makes me sick.

Sometimes, on occassion, I will eat an apple.

But snacks are for the undisciplined. I just smoke weed and refuse to accept the munchies unless it is an appropriate and duly designated meal time.

It used to be a cup of coffee, sometimes with a shot of Bailey's swirled in if I knew I'd be left alone for a few hours. Because my doctor has demanded I eat more nuts, I have a huge container by my desk overflowing with raw mixed nuts, some salted and some not--I combined two containers.

I can't eat big meals when writing. I get so into writing that I forget to chew my food properly. :( I'd rather write before meals, anyway, because a full tummy makes me sleepy and all I want to do is beach myself on the bed with netflix and tea.

So, coffee and nuts it is.

Side note: my coffee of choice is Philz. I didn't know coffee could taste good without cream and sugar until a coworker introduced me to Philz. I buy a bag of beans from them every two weeks. Amazing stuff.

Nom nom. I love nuts and not even in the dirty way. I've always got like a least ten different kinds because I make my own milk from them. Because milking nuts is great for making smoothies and sometimes it's just great on its own or with a bit of chocolate. My favorite nut milk comes from pecans because they look like little vaginas and taste wonderful with dates and are so good for you. Thanks for the resource Kirk. I will try nuts.com.
