Hi, I'm Hart from the no man's land between the San Gabriel Valley and the Inland Empire of Southern California.  I'm marketing book 1 of a 6 book YA Fantasy series and pushing myself to work on book 2.  (My limited but enthusiastic fans continue to hound me for more.  What do they want, resolution?)  The Writer mentioned this site, so I thought I'd check you all out.  I could use a reason to complete scenes on a timely basis, and I'm hoping to bring some scenes in for review.  I'm slow to adapt to sites like this, so give me a little time to get to know where I'm at.  Hope to meet a few of you in passing as I acclimate to my new surroundings here.  And if you want to know more about my book, my web site is at http://dhartstmartin.com.  Thanks.

Hi there. I too enjoy YA Fantasy (though I know almost nothing about it in its modern incarnation). We have a workshop here at LR as well, and I think some people have tried workshopping a few novels in there. I'm not sure how successful they were, but if you want to give it a shot, then follow these simple directions and make it easier on yourself and other participants. For god's sake keep your chapters short, or you won't get as many reviews. Welcome!

If it seems quiet, it's because everyone is at WAR.

Hart, Jeff "The Penetrator" up there hit it on the head.  We're open to helping you with your novel(s) in the workshop.  It would definitely be a piece by piece thing, so if you want to workshop the whole novel at once it might be a good idea to find a couple like-minded folks who are looking for the same sort of help.  Might take you a week or two, but we're (mostly) friendly if you want to hang out in the forums with us.

But I can't recommend the workshop enough.  It's done a lot for me, and for most of the other people here that I know who have taken it seriously.

FYI:  watch out for Jeff.  He's not called "The Penetrator" for any particular reason, but he does like to try to get reviews for his Playgirl audition photos.  So be wary when he asks for your email address.

Plus, it's the holidays.

Plus, it's the holidays.

WRONG. It has nothing to do with holidays, 'the' or otherwise. It's because of WAR. Now never contradict me again. Ever.

Kidding! Look how nice I am! Big smile, everybody's happy.
