Hello, my name is Ripley, and I am another new member to the website. I've been reading LitReactor since the commencement, but next week is when I am finally upgrading to a paid account.

I have been scribbling stories for most of my life. My AP English Literature teacher in high school had the class write short stories using the weekly vocabulary words assigned so I have been writing seriously for seven years now. During my junior year of college, fall semester, I typed around forty thousand words of short fiction, which I am currently editing and revising.

Last year I had my first short story published in three sections because I have a tenancy to go on and on with my short fiction. Hopefully, the writer's workshop can help me trim down my word counts besides adding fresh eyes to my drafts. Additionally, I spent two years editing my alma matter's literary review. I enjoy editing other people's work almost as much as composing fiction.

On a side note, Caleb J. Ross and I are alumni of the same post-secondary institution. By divine command, I must bring the ESU totem pole from the English department across the hall to Social Sciences.

Anyhow, I cannot wait to get involved next week.

Welcome!

Quit name dropping, Caleb J Ross impresses no one!

No, I'm kidding, because he really is very nice.  Anyway, if you look to the left you'll see a small buffet table with a few treats and punch.  Enjoy that, and make yourself at home.

And if you get a bit sleepy after you have the punch, just sit on the nice comfy couch and relax.  More than likely you've just become a character in a story by Bekanator.

@Dave:  Nice addition to the meme.

Thanks, getting into the spirit and all.  It was a pain...the meme generator I use is down. Sad face.

Another fellow Kansan. I live about 10 minutes from CJR. Just close enough to make his life (even more) miserable. I hear name-dropping him three times will make something horrific and wonderful happen.

I tried that once in the mirror in a dark bathroom.  A midget tried to cut off my ear with a sharpened toothbrush handle.

True story.

Are we trying to figure out if Caleb J Ross searches for his name in the forums? Because if so, Caleb J Ross was on our little podcast. We all like Caleb J Ross.

And welcome, Ripley! We're all friendly here (that's a lie), it's a lot of fun. And...

we all float down here.

Q: How can you tell that someone's a recent college grad?

A: You don't have to, they will mention it in every paragraph of their intro thread.

Welcome, congratulation on finishing college! And I don't mean to bug you, but can you hustle it with that refill on my drink?
