I bet plent of you have had readers react strongly to something you wrote. Let's hear the story, how'd it go down?

Everybody at my job who read my book about working at the hotel freaked out and became convinced all I do at night is jerk off on the roof

Frankly, I find the idea of a hotel worker jerking off on the roof a relief. That's much better than almost every other conceivable place to jerk off in a hotel, from the standpoint of someone who would be sleeping in one.

ha! I wrote some informal and creative non-fiction for my daugther on her 13th birthday,  You and I: A short story of sorts.  It was in letter format and I was telling her how I was a punk (used better adjectives), met her dad, things happened, and it was all pretty sentimental but in a non-sappy sort of way (at least i think). I cried writing it and re-reading it. I had a lot of friends tell me they did, too, after I posted it on FB. I think when I write about my children I tend to really show my weaknesses.
