Do these appear to be correct per AP Style? Numbers in AP Style can get tricky at times.
• Four and a half to 8 inches of snow is expected.
• The weatherman said, "A 4 1/2- to 8-inch accumulation is expected for later this evening."
• a 70 to 90 mph wind gust / a 70-90 mph wind gust
• Five-by-9-inch index cards are needed for the project.
• Five-by-9 1/2-inch index cards are needed for the project.
• It may be a 4 1/2- to six-hour project.
• The project may take 4 1/2 to six hours.
• a 6-foot-2 1/2-inch man
• a 7-pound, 5 3/4-ounce baby
• the 8-pound, 8-week-old redhead has almost doubled in size
• a $60 million–$70 million a year industry (Hyphen replaces "to.")
• a $95,000–$100,000 a year joint income (Hyphen replaces "to.")
BUT: It was a four- to six-hour project.
• Joe will face 3 1/2 to seven years in prison.
• The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down three-eighths. (Not 3/8.)
• a two-hour, 14-minute, nine-second project
• a nine-day, 10-hour, seven-second marathon
• The renovation took two years, 11 months and three weeks.
• Tom's mother had 14 hamsters, six dogs, eight cats and 16 gerbils left in her pet store.
