So glad to join this great community of readers and book-lovers.
I love going to bookstores. I love holding books. I have a kindle. I love my kindle. Barnes & Noble killed Borders, which killed most independent bookstores. And now Barnes&Noble is getting killed by Amazon. I think Amazon can be really creative and do a "Love the Book" type promo with independent bookstores. The goodwill will be tremendous. I don't want to not be able to spend countless wasted hours looking at books, something I just can't imagine is as fun over the internet.
I see no reason why Amazon and independent bookstores can't coexist in a mutually beneficial environment.

It takes no effort. Just join in the conversation. Mostly it's about our love of bookstores so we're not at all angry or ready to occupy anything. Yet :)
