Hey all, I apologize if I'm the millionth person to talk about this, but does anyone else really want an app for this place on their phone? Has there been any discussion about it?

An app would definitely be cool, because I often have issues with the site on my mobile devices.

I'd use an app to check for messages and check for any replies to workshop submissions.  But if the email notifications were added/working on the site, then there might be less of a need for it.

Can we jump right to the Android V. iPhone debate? Because I'd love that.

Yeah I just have a bookmark saved that takes me to the site but it doesn't make for easy navigation, and my time is way too important to be zooming in on things. App please.

I'd definitely check out an app. I'd probably only use it to check and respond to messages though, as has been mentioned.

However, yet another old thread.:D

why do people want a writing app? Because they need it, or do they just need something to do? Crazy what people will do these days!

Hey everyone--we've talked about developing an app, but we're not sure it's worth the investment of time and money. As in, what kind of value could you get out of using the site on the go?

Not saying it's off the table, but it's not something we're currently planning on.

Building an app is expensive as fuck. People don't realize that.

An easier method might be to adapt the CSS code so the site goes to a mobile version for phones. Just a thought.

that sounds boss, even though that would cost serious $$$

Bump!

Totally understand about the cost aspect, as well as the true need for an app. I suppose a mobile version would be easier and cheaper. Then again, I haven't been on this site in a LONG time (which I hope to rectify now), so I'm probably not even justified to talk about this lol.
