Most of our classes feature one major writing assignment per week.  These assignments tend to correspond with or bear some natural relationship to the lecture material of the same week.  In an actual class, this space would contain one assignment and outline all the parameters for you in exact detail, including  word count and posting deadline.

A single assignment might call for 750 to 1,000 words, if you're enrolled in a Flash Fiction class. Or it might call for 3,000 to 5,000 words, if you're writing short stories of traditional scope.  The details will vary in a way that makes sense for the particular course.  

You'll generally have multiple days to fulfill each assignment, but you may need to complete it in less than a week, in order to allow ample time for peer review and commentary prior to a new cycle of instruction.

As with lecture content, the student is always free to ask clarifying questions within the comments space below.
