Hey, I'm David.
I'm considering the upgrade here, but I'd like to know: How long does one need to wait in queue for a critique? Do you find the critiques here as generally helpful?
Also, any more information about your experience here would be lovely. Thanks ahead~
The longest I ever waited was I think 3 days on a holiday weekend. 95% several hours, with more coming in once a day ish for a few days. MMV.
Hi notmyid,
What Dwayne said is a pretty good representation. I've usually had crits up within 24 hours. There's no real 'queue' here, because all workshop submissions are instant and ready for people to read as soon as you sumbit them. The only thing that creates a waiting time is if active members are all engaged on another story already, and even then there are usually a few members who turn crits over so quickly that you'll usually have a response in a decent time. I waited 4 days once but that was only because I made an unconventional submission that I knew hardly anyone would touch. The rest of my stuff got attention as fast as I could reasonably ask for it.
How many critiques are you likely to get for an average submission?
How many of those are reciprocations for critiques you have made?
Shorter, past a 1000 words, you get more. Longer gets less.
Interesting. I've been wanting but waiting to post something myself. If you had something longer then, would you say to break it up and post it in pieces if you wanted to get feedback?
Maybe, depends on how long. What were you thinking?
What I was contemplating posting is about 30 pages single spaced, so probably much too long.
Oh yeah.
