Congrats to all for all the excellent release news. Awesome to see folks getting their writey-type stuff on.
Been a minute, but there's some really cool things coming up.
First, a fun little anthology called 'Last Word' - I've got a piece called 'Keeping The Scene Alive' in this one.
This is a pretty bad ass ToC that also includes Todd Robinson and Jack Getze.
I'm also appearing in the upcoming anthology to benefit Protect (an amazing organization that works to help abused children). 55 stories from some of the best out there. I'm still sort of flabbergasted to share a ToC with writers of this calibre. This is going to be a must have and 100% goes to Protect - which is bad ass.
And lastly, this is a whoring thread, so it'd be non-shilly of me NOT to promote my debut novella, 'The Fury of Blacky Jaguar'!
Good ol' Rob Hart there got a cool $13 bucks to say: "I want a Blacky Jaguar TV series. And an action figure. And a lunchbox. And Blacky-branded brass knuckles. Until that day, I'll settle for this razor-sharp, rattling buzzsaw of a novella."
How can you NOT check this book out?
Anyway, sorry for taking miles here. Back to radio silence and writing!
Keep it up peoples!

Hey all,
My short story collection WEST OF YOU is live on Amazon and KDP. For the modest price of $7.89 you can have 9 eclectic stories about the modern West in your hot little hands or, for $2.99 you can download the whole enchilada to your phone, iPad, Kindle, Nook, etc. and have something to read on the plane other than in-flight magazines and that Conde Nast from 1998.
And, some of the individual short stories are coming available on Kindle.
BRAVE SUCKER is about a Native American transvestite teen navigating the margins of hate in a small desert town. $1.29 on Amazon Kindle.
In a dystopian America fifty years from now, a battle-weary enforcer for a domestic terrorist cell trying to overthrow the ruling class questions his faith in the cause. LAND OF NOD has echoes of William Gibson's SPOOK COUNTRY. Just $1.59 on Amazon.

Hey all,
I'm currently selling signed editions of Good Sex, Great Prayers for $16 (includes shipping), which actually undercuts the price listed on Amazon.
Here's some blurbage from some familiar names:
"Entertaining, energetic, and like the author’s previous book Out of Touch, full of all sorts of good “bad” ideas, as well as profane and colorful sensory overload. And the title isn’t false advertising either. In fact, some of the more fascinating biblical passages compete with the author in a game of who can out-crazy the other. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to watch some sacred cows get slaughtered, or romanced, or both."
-David James Keaton, author of The Last Projector (current LitReactor book of the month)
"The title is a dare, a provocation, a promise—and Tietz delivers with a visceral, faith-based attack that takes your senses and sexuality to the limit. Despite all the intertwined fireworks, the core story is a classic Stephen King setup, as a small town struggles with evil and a normal man has to come to grips with impossible circumstances in order to confront them, resulting in a memorable and unexpected climax (the literary kind, though there’s plenty of the dirty kind throughout). Reading this book cost me 1.2 million ‘Our Fathers’. . . and it was worth it."
"Knowing the author as I do, I expected an irreverent romp in the vein of Jesus Angel Garcia’s Badbadbad, perhaps lampooning religion while vacuous sluts violated Commandments under the auspices of some misguided preacher. Instead, the story (though not the writing) is closer to Chuck Wendig territory, with supernatural elements that took me by surprise—which isn’t a spoiler. It’s a “rural fantasy” with a high body—er, bodily fluid count, and the mature evolution I’d hoped for Tietz. A major leap in that regard, really. Its faith and religious elements are treated respectfully, just like in the characters who embody them."
"Sacrilegious is one word that comes to mind. Transgressive is another. This novel carries a lot of heat, mixed with epiphanies, regret, and disgust. But it is not without humor—the harsh truth lying just beneath the punch lines that coat the scarred surface. A strong voice that always entertains and never disappoints, GSGP is a wild ride, from start to finish."

I know I post very sporadically, but I'd like to show off my new story, which was up at Flash Fiction Magazine a couple of days ago:
From the author of the critically acclaimed cult novel, ANONYMOUS, comes a dark tale about love and loss.
Meet Jeffrey.
Jeffrey is turning forty. He has a good job, a loving wife, and a beautiful house. When the love of his life passes suddenly, his seemingly normal world turns upside down. The sudden death, along with his midlife crisis, causes Jeffrey to grieve the five stages in unnatural ways. He trades in his Toyota Corolla for a Corvette, smokes pot with the neighbor kid, and dresses up in cheerleader outfits with his pals William and Lena in order to feel young and beautiful.
William and Lena agree to do whatever it takes to help Jeffrey during his grief, even when it means committing minor crimes such as burglary. All is kosher until William notices a downward change in Jeffrey. Distraught by memories of his wife, and despite William's and Lena's best efforts, Jeffrey begins to slowly derail into a dark place that only he could get out of. An internal battle with his emotions and himself, Jeffrey takes matters into his own hands to pull through.
DRAMA DOLLS is an intimate, dark comedy about loss and obsession, survival and grief, and the desiring need to take control of your own life.
I appreciate if you all would check it out. RIYL Gillian Flynn, Charles Bukowski, and of course, Chuck P. It is only $2.99 on Kindle and will be free October 29th.

Hey guys! Relatively new here, but I'm excited to have found this very cool looking community! I've got my debut novel coming out on November 10th, and it's up for pre-order now on Amazon. Here's the synopsis:
===
Trigger is once again sitting at home in front of his computer; only this time, he's got a stomach full of powerful anti-depressants and gin. As an outcast that's becoming disillusioned by society's increasing addiction to social media, he decides to end it all.
He posts his suicide note on Fortune-69.com, his digital playground of choice, but things don't go exactly as planned. When Trigger unexpectedly wakes up the next morning, he quickly learns two things: at some point during the night he unknowingly posted an inspirational message that was deleted by moderators, and that he now has a legion of anonymous followers who want to follow his every command.
Trying to find a way to cope with his bizarre family history, Trigger finds himself tangled up with a sexually liberated cosplayer who pushes him to his limits and a mysterious hacker, intent on changing the world through digital anarchy.
'Fortune 69' is the debut novel by David Heath, a US Army combat veteran and author of the 'Bilateral Comics' series.

Hey all,
I have a piece of flash in the latest issue of decomP. It's strange. It's Biblical. It's hallucinogenic. It's here.
They dared Florence to enter the haunted house on top of the hill. She is frightened, but Florence musters the courage to go inside. As she makes her way up to the top she finds many ghastly things along the way. Will she make it back out or be turned into a stump forever? The Stumps of Flattop Hill is a macabre tale of a little girl who enters the town’s legendary haunted house in the face of fear. A dark tale for children in the tradition of the Brother’s Grimm, it calls to mind the provocative illustration style of Edward Gorey. Scary and entertaining, this book challenges the idea of what children’s books can be.

Hi Everyone:
My first novel, Speakers of the Dead, will be released on March 1, 2016 (Penguin-Random House). Speakers of the Dead is a mystery novel centering around the investigative exploits of a young Walt Whitman, in which the reporter-cum-poet navigates the seedy underbelly of New York City's body-snatching industry in an attempt to exonerate his friend of a wrongful murder charge.
“Boldly plotted and compulsively readable.”
—Matthew Pearl, author of The Last Bookaneer and The Dante Club
“A character and a world that feels both entirely authentic and yet deliriously imagined.”
—Kevin Wilson, author of The Family Fang
“A vivid and engaging adventure.”
—Nicola Upson, author of The Death of Lucy Kyte
“A first-rate literary mystery, thrilling and illuminating in equal measure.”
—Sherill Tippins, author of Inside the Dream Palace: The Life and Times of New York’s Legendary Chelsea Hotel
“Riveting and haunting.”
—Rae Meadows, author of Mercy Train
“An action-packed thriller.”
—Michael Knight, author of The Typist
“[I]n Sanders’s gripping first novel, set in New York City in 1843, Walt Whitman, a 23 year-old- reporter, tries but fails to rescue a friend of his…from the hangman at the Tombs, the city jail. [T]he author…imbues all his characters, even the villains, with humanity. Fans of Daniel Stashower’s account of the Mary Rogers case, The Beautiful Cigar Girl, won’t want to miss this auspicious debut.”

Need to do some last minute holiday shopping? Here are some incredibly self-serving suggestions:
NEW YORKED, my first novel, which was picked as a 'best of the year' by a bunch of cool people and places, including the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Out of the Gutter, BookPeople bookstore in Austin--and two separate columnists here at LitReactor! I didn't even coerce them into doing it, either!
CITY OF ROSE, the follow-up to NEW YORKED. It's not available until Feb. 9, but if you pre-order it now, you'll have a fun treat waiting once your new holiday gifts lose their luster. Kirkus called it engaging, Publishers Weekly called it appealing, and Chelsea Cain said it featured her "favorite kind of hero". (Plus, it's already gone to the printer, so if you get it in paperback, it'll show up a good bit before the release date.)
CRUEL YULE, a killer short story collection from Thuglit, which includes my story "The Santa Con," about two dummies who use SantaCon as cover to rob a bank. Lots of great stuff in here. It's holiday stories for people on the naughty list!
OCCUPIED EARTH, another collection I've got a story in. This is the first one where I mined my political background for material. It's about earth twenty years after being overthrown by aliens. My first shot at sci-fi!
They all make great gifts! Or in the case of CITY OF ROSE, will make a great gift!
Happy holidays, folks.

Hey guys! Relatively new here, but I'm excited to have found this very cool looking community! I've got my debut novel coming out on November 10th, and it's up for pre-order now on Amazon. Here's the synopsis:
===

Not sure if I announced either, but I sold two stories recently—"The Offering on the Hill" will be in Chiral Mad 3 alongside Stephen King, with original art by Glenn Chadbourne (see above) and "Repent" in Gutted: Beautiful Horror Stories, alongside Neil Gaiman and Clive Barker, with an introduction from Chuck Palahniuk! Hi guys,
If anyone has an opportunity, I'd love an honest review of Samael and the Almost Perfect.
It's a short story that's been floating around in my head for a while now, and I finally took the time to finish a first draft.

That's awesome, Angel. Still need to pick up The Fury of Blacky Jaguar--it has been on my list for a while, just been super busy w/ student teaching, writing, catching up on my to-read list. I saw a little Facebook promo for Cruel Yule, and will definitely be snagging a copy. So many good writers...
Y'all are some talented bastards. Congratulations on all of the recent success.

Hey everybody. I got a story in the WW that I'd love to get some feed back on.
https://litreactor.com/workshop/sub/black-noel
It's a transgressive horror story about the spirit of Christmas the is incredibly offensive but equally funny and incorporates lots of bizarro into it.
Hey all,
I have a piece of flash in the latest issue of decomP. It's strange. It's Biblical. It's hallucinogenic. It's here.

The Stumps of Flattop Hill

Thanks!
I was at a convention for my line of work at the same time there was an actual SantaCon going on. Elves, Mrs Clauses, and plenty of Santas.
I'm launching a Kickstarter in February of 2016 to try and start an online magazine, called Gamut, on January 1st, 2017. Head over to my blog for all of the information. Please help spread the word when the time is right, and I hope to see your stories in my inbox.
