God damn I love Lydia Yuknavitch. For anyone who hasn't seen it and would like to here's the link: how a misfit found her voice
Thank you, I hadn't seen it. Curious if anyone knows what literary prize she won that sent her to NY like that (would also love to read that original story).
Wait, magazines can hand out MFAs?
Who would have thought. News to me.
Thanks voodoo. Lydia's been on my radar from her popularity on this site, but I haven't read her work yet.
Thanks so much voodoo, for the link to Lydia Yuknavich Ted TAlk. It is very powerful. I started hearing her name a few months ago when I was searching for a writing community, and kept hearing about the writers in the Portland area, which eventually led me to Litreactor, a few weeks ago. Just this Ted talks is worth all the searching. I will begin reading her worth now. Thanks a million.
I waited so long for this video to finally be uploaded and I saw it a couple of weeks ago on youtube. Would have loved to hear it live, and good thing Lidia was there.
Thanks for sharing.
