A friend gifted me a copy of Literary Theory: An Introduction by Terry Eagleton. It reminds me of reading for IB Philosophy in high school. It requires more studying than casual reading. Has anyone read it and if so was it ultimately a valuable experience?
Also, I am going to photoshop this picture of Edmund Husserl and give him some hipster clothes.
I read it as an undergraduate. It was helpful. Eagleton is prolific and a lot of his stuff I find less interesting than it promises to be. Trouble With Strangers is one that I really enjoyed. His book On Evil is, at least, worth reading.
The Introduction, though, really is valuable. As a very general overview, that is. Critical theory is fascinating.
Hmm... I remember that one. I remember it was not too nice to postmodernism.
