What happened to this? http://litreactor.com/news/introducing-featured-workshop-story
I loved the first two stories selected by Clevenger and Wensink. I loved the idea of rewarding the hardworking workshop members with a Featured Story that paid a little dough. I loved the competitive nature of trying to earn the spot. I like the idea of the top three stories. Everything about this was awesome and it looks like it fizzled out after two stories. Nothing new since November.
Is it hard to come by guest judges? Is it for lack of many monthly submissions into the workshop? Is it the quality of the submissions? Did someone just forget? What ever the reason, I hope you guys decide to revive this because it was a great idea. Maybe more promotion could encourage more membors to join the workshop and utilize it's great tools, and perhaps be rewarded in the future with a winning Feature Story.
Agreed, seeing that as a non-member was one of the reasons I joined the workshop.
I'll look into this, Jonathan.
It was a fantastic idea. I hope it comes back.
I've never posted a story with the featuered story option on just because I know I'm not up to that level yet but always intrested to see which one get pick out. Maybe trying to get guest judges could be the issue as they may be sort on time. Hope this gets sorted soon and makes a return. Even with out the paid reward it's good to have a story pointed out in the workshop and have somthing to strive for.
Any word?
Any update on this one?
:((
Hey--I completely missed this thread. Sorry about that.
Here's the deal: I was a little too ambitious kicking this off, because it took up a lot of my time. But just this past weekend we talked about an idea for bringing it back, and hopefully it sticks.
More soon. And I'm sorry for dropping the ball on it. It just got to be too much to handle.
Cheers rob :)
