in case people havent noticed, the first essay from clevenger is up. it's one of my personal favorites THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS. check it out. it might be interesting to discuss it a little, too....
I can't wait until he posts the rest of them. I read some of them on the cult. His essays are priceless. I need to read up on Palahniuk's essays again, its been a while. I still wish his Q&A's were transferred here too though.
I read "The Devil is in the Details" a couple days ago, to try and prompt some writing out of me. It was really useful, since it's rife with great examples from different authors. Looking forward to more essays from Clevenger.
Thanks, y'all. I've been volleying with Kirk and Dennis re translocating the pieces from over at the Cult to this here site, but I've got a few new ones in the works, LitReactor exclusives, premium content, top-secret, gold star, secret handshake/password and whatnot. Will crank 'em out as quickly as I can.
Word.
Secret handshakes, nice. Digital handshakes.
I just read through Chuck's Essays. Incredible insight. I appreciate all of his work in a new light, now. Looking forward to The rest of Craig's, and hopefully, others.
Not having read Clevenger's ones before, I keep checking twice a day to see if another one is up. I like his style of portraying information because quick barrages of information is sort of how my brain locks onto things, and Palahniuk's are some of the best informative essays because he employs the techniques right from the start, he proves it to you. The columns section also has some interesting essays on craft so far.
The latest is here: Cavemen, Sharks, and the Doors of Perception.
