My story is 603 words total.  It's meant to be a picture book.  I can not for the life of me figure out how to write a synopsis to begin with, and with a short story like this.  Do I even need a synopsis to submit to publishers with my story being just barely two pages when it's double spaced.

Depending on how long the synopsis I could help. I usually go by: character action setting. Or if it's a setting first, then Setting Action Character.

I had read most of the book on publishing childrens stories 2014 addition and I'm still not 100 percent sure what synopsis is.  Is it simular to the summery on the back or is it the whole story told shortened?  It doesn't help that i read somewhere synopsis could be 500-1000 words.  My story could be a synopsis by that heh.

Still figuring that out. From my understanding it's a summary of each chapter. As suppose to a query, that is a sort of like a paragraphical hook.

With that said, someone with more experience might have a better idea.

From what I've discovered children's books synopsis are the summeries in the back.  You know how it gives you a hint what the story is about but makes you want to read more to see for yourself.  If that's the case I did do that earlier.  So it's back to editing the stories. 1 down 4 to go.

When I get my laptop I'm going to be working on my chapter books.

[edit] Thank you Sarah for responding back so promptly with me.  My cockyness might get the best of me when I'm all done but considering what kind of person I have been my whole life, I think it's ok to let that slide.

I have found that if you learn to summarize the story that helps.
