@Aliensoul77 - Even if you don't do anything with the story, the feedback you got is still worth something. If anything, this is just an exercise for both writers to crank something half-assed out and learn about their immediate writing flaws. The lessons can play out in future writing.
The point is that you wrote something over the last couple weeks, which is awesome, because I've been doing nothing but watching Louie episode after episode. That ain't progress at all.
At first I didn't want to take part in this battle thing, because I never let people see my first or second drafts, but seeing the outcome here makes me want to try things out.
@aliensoul, the whole reason why I think the writer battle thing is a good idea is not necessarily because I am an angry person that likes to fight, nor is it because we get a "definitive answer." For me, it gets words on the damn page (because I CAN'T LET THEM BEAT ME) and the random prompt forces me to stay on my toes.
My thoughts were, at the very least, I'd get practice. At the best, I'd have something useful to build on.
I just want to commend Danny and Dakota on writing these stories. Like Bekster said, look at what you've accomplished. You both have stories to work on now. Not to mention all that feedback that was generated. And now all this feedback and ass-patting above.
Shit, I'm not sure what you guys expected, but wasn't this the point of the whole literary cage match in the first place?
At least you guys have the guts to participate which is more than I can say for myself.
