Wachowski Siblings Discuss 'Cloud Atlas' At Fantastic Fest

The Wachowski siblings sat down at Fantastic Fest to discuss their upcoming adaptation of David Mitchell's novel, Cloud Atlas. Normally this wouldn't be post-worthy, but the Wachowskis are generally very press-shy, so it's interesting to see them sit down and talk about anything.

The video is pretty short, so if you're looking for more, check out this huge article from The New Yorker, which delves into adapting the movie (as well as Lana Wachowski's gender transition).

Seriously, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much are you anticipating this movie? I'm currently at about 23. Even if it's a complete failure, it looks like it'll be a spectacular one.

LitReactor Managing Editor Joshua Chaplinsky was at Fantastic Fest, for both this talk and a screening of the movie. He's got a column about it coming up later this month, maybe he can give us some hints about what to expect...

The best part isn't even in this video.

When they introduced the film, Andy started by saying, "Hi, I'm Andy Wachowski, and this is my sister Lana. Formerly the Wachowski brothers, currently-- Wachowski Starship!"

I don't want to say too much either way, but the film is definitely an accomplishment, and worth checking out if you love film and/or love the book.

Just finished the book and holy jeepers I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE. Like you said above, even if this is a failure its going to be a pretty spectacular one.
