Simon & Schuster Wants YOU to Design Fahrenheit 451’s Next Jacket Cover
Next year, the late Ray Bradbury’s second and arguably most famous novel, Fahrenheit 451, turns 60. To celebrate this rite of passage, Simon & Schuster invites fans and/or graphic artists to submit new cover designs for the upcoming special edition reprint, slated to go on sale in spring 2013.
The general rules are pretty straightforward, though interested parties should read the official rules, here.
• The Submission must be in jpeg format.
• The Submission must be in English.
• The Submission must be an original jacket design for the 60th anniversary edition.
• You may submit up to three (3) entries. Submissions must be different and not substantially similar.
Simon & Schuster maintains a Tumblr showcasing all the entries, and the competition looks stiff. We can look forward to a slick and intriguing new design for this stalwart piece of writing.
In addition to the obvious prize (having your name and cover attached to a famous book), contest winners will also receive $1,500 and possibly see their work used in in-store and online promotional material. The deadline for entries is December 7th, so there’s still time to submit. Design-inclined LitReactors can participate here.
Which entries are your favorite so far? Feel free to link them in the comments. And be sure to let us know if you enter.
