Adaptation Of Charlie Huston's 'Caught Stealing'

via io9:

Word out of the Toronto Film Festival is that Patrick Wilson and Alec Baldwin will appear in an adaptation of Charlie Huston's fantastic novel, Caught Stealing. No word yet on who's directing, but the script will be written by David Hayter (Watchmen, X-Men 2).

Here's the synopsis of the book, from Word & Film:

Caught Stealing centers around Henry “Hank” Thompson, a former high school superstar athlete turned alcoholic bartender, who gets more than he bargains for after agreeing to watch his neighbor’s cat. Hank soon finds himself in the center of a bloody treasure hunt through Manhattan, being chased by a dirty cop, Russian gangsters, and a cast of equally colorful characters, all vying for a piece of the hidden fortune.

Patrick Wilson will play Hank and Baldwin will play Detective Roman. Some solid casting right there, for a book that I absolutely love. I love pretty much everything Huston has written. In a perfect world, they'll adapt the entire trilogy. And then they'll make an HBO series from his Joe Pitt books.

Anyone else read Huston? Excited to see his work headed to the screen?

I can see Wilson as Hank. And yeah, I love that trilogy. Hell, all his books should be adapted into either the small or big screen(stupid HBO not picking up Mystic Arts).

Yeah that sucks HBO didn't pick up Mystic Arts. I can see Baldwin as Det. Roman, not real sure who the other guy is though. I really liked XMen 2 so hopefully the script will be good. These books will make some awesome movies.
