UPDATE x 2 - Mark Your Calendar: The First LitReactor Meetup Is July 5th In NYC
Do you want to hang out in a dark room with a bunch of strangers from the internet? Then mark your calendars and dig out your drinkin' hats--we're hosting the first official LitReactor meetup!
WHERE: Lilly O'Brien's, 67 Murray Street, Manhattan, NY
WHEN: July 5, 6:30 p.m.
Lilly O'Brien's is a great little pub in Tribeca, where we'll have full run of the bar in the basement. Some of the site's founders, columnists and instructors will be on hand--and also maybe a surprise guest or two. More on that soon.
There's plenty of public transit access: it's right around the corner from the 1, 2, 3, A, C, E and PATH trains, and within walking distance of the R, 4, 5, 6, J and Z lines. Plus a bunch of buses and ferries. And the largest airport system in the United States. Really, you have no excuse to not be there.
If you think you might be coming, sound off in the comments. At some point I'd like to give the bar a headcount, even if it's a very rough guess. And if you're planning on coming in from outside New York and you have any questions or need guidance, ask away.
UPDATE (6/20/12): We're getting a little closer, so we wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that LitReactor Overlords Dennis Widmyer, Kirk Clawes and Mark Vanderpool are flying in for this shindig. Also on the guest list: Senior Editor Joshua Chaplinsky, and instructor/columnist Jon Gingerich. You know what that means? This is going to be a boring party. Please come and save me from these people.
Kidding. Everyone is really cool and this will be fun. So come to this thing. As before, if you think you're going to swing by, raise your hand up high, but down in the comments so we can see it.
UPDATE (6/28/12): So, also coming? John Jarzemsky! And he's coming from Texas. Y'all have no excuse.
Also, nametags? Do you think we should do them? Or are they lame? I don't really care that much, because I don't have to wear one. My username is my real name!
Also, are you excited yet? One week to go!
