I vote for Psychosis: an Anthology of Fiction

But that isn't an option.

Hahahhah, I am going to kill you.

Just vote for anthology of fiction and your minus the extra antho will be noted cause I can't edit the poll.

I don't think any of them need "Anthology" in the title more than once, but maybe that's just personal taste.

Yeah, I guess I got anthology happy, I can delete both anthologies.

I'm torn between Psychosis: an Anthology of Fiction and Psychosis: an Anthology of Madness. Either is good.

I don't the first two options, no need for the The. I don't think we should use mental illness.

I also think Psychosis: Stories would work well.

I'm not a very descisive person sometimes.

I'm stumpled.  There are too many good points and I am not opinionated enough.  I like Martin's idea of Psychosis: Stories but I feel like it needs something else.  Not that the title needs to be any longer.  Psychosis works perfectly fine on its own, but the sub-title of what the book is needs something.  Like Psychosis: Stories Inspired by Madness.

Geez.  I feel like saying anything is going to make Danny kill himself before he gets the editing done.  Sorry, buddy, but we're all thinkers here.

Okay, then just vote on two and forget the first anthology. Anthology will only go once in the title, i got overeager.

Everyone, ignore all double uses of anthology, just tell me if you think it belongs before the colon.

NEW POLL

just, FYI:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthology

"An anthology is a collection of literary works chosen by the compiler. It may be a collection of poems, short stories, plays, songs, or excerpts. In genre fiction anthology is used to categorize collections of shorter works such as short stories and short novels, usually collected into a single volume for publication."

so maybe we're fine.

i voted for the last one.

I voted for the last one too. But if it's so problematic to bring up "madness" again as a term, can we make it an anthology of fictional madness? Or madness in fiction?

I don't mean to complicate things at this point in the game. Last one is fine.

"NEW POLL"

I agree with Richard.

If we got with Psychosis: Stories, couldn't it just be:

Psychosis Stories ?

No colon?

I mean, Ideally we would run this like a tourney, and offer all of the options up front, then after enough time passes for us to feel like everyone has voted we take like the top 2 options (or 3, or do it 5 and run 3 different polls, whatever feels "fair")  and we have a "finals" poll between the top choices.

I'm not personally fond of the way "Psychosis Stories" sounds. Straight up "Psychosis" sounds better to me.

But my favorite option was actually represented in this poll: Psychosis: An Anthology of Madness

Putting anthology in the name seems like a bad idea. How is that going to size up to titles like "Warmed and Bound."

I think the title needs more showing and less telling.

Telling: Psychosis Anthology

@Brandon: me too. If girls buying you beers isn't weird.
My vote's for Psychosis: Stories.
Or Psychosis on its own with a small subtitle: an anthology of fiction. Too long otherwise, but okay if it's a teeny, clarifying-sort-of-subtitle.

I am so confused.  If you guys want to create another poll, you can, I'm done making polls because I'm so confused as to what are all 18 possible titles now.  The title actually doesn't matter that much to me as the stories. Oh yeah and getting it published.  Or getting cover quotes, everything else is cake.  So if you guys want to call it, Stories about Slightly Mental Ill People & Crazies.  That's fine but if no one can agree on a decision, I am going to call it Amputee Porn & Other stories.

Nathan's picture

I was going to say, isn't an anthology a collection stories? I think an anothology "of fiction" is redundant.

How about just calling it what it is: Psychosis: An Anthology of Hope, Dreams, and The American Way, Plus Some Stories from England, Canada, and A Lot of Other Fucking Places. Bitch.

Although, it looks like Anthology of Madness is winning.  But if people are going to get all upset and be like, "you didn't take out the "The" so I couldn't vote" then we will repoll but honestly I think the main choice is between "mental illness", "fiction" and 'madness".  The "thes" and extra anthology are irrelevant.  I don't see anything wrong with saying the word anthology.

Avery, you make the poll since you seem to know all the the's and antho's and where, why and wherefore art thous.

I made one final damn poll.  everyone vote and don't add any THEs or extra ANTHOLOGIES.  Don't say we need to name it something other than what is on the poll please.  I think I came up with 20 variations on what everyone said. A clear winner was emerging here though, you sore losers. Also the anthology is not politically correct at all.  I think I need to start sharing the amputee porn story again.  So the word madness does apply.
