I have these pair of cut-off jeans that have these big rips around where the pockets are and they show an exceptional amount of underwear and sickly pale thigh. I only wear them around the house and when out walking the dog around the neighborhood. Also the zipper will not stay up. Should I finally call it quits on these pants or what?
Pants question. Do girls like guys wearing the top of their pants under their butt cheeks? Seriously, women, when you were girls in junior/senior high, did you think that looked awesome? And how has this "look" been around so long? My son is 25. He was rockin' that style when he was in junior high (I don't think he wears his pants like that anymore ... or I'm so used to it I simply haven't noticed). But my 19-year-old stepson still does. I would have thought something would have supplanted it by now. Is it finally dying out?
Pretty sure that trend became popular maybe around when I was a kid or earlier when everyone wore jeans a size or so too big. Especially cut-offs (have to bring it back to the cut-offs,) you have to house those so they cover up your gangly ashy knees. Then became the tight pants fad, where you physically have to hang those low because you can't fit your fat ass into them. I never wore those but I did have a phase where there was that retro 70s heavy metal boom and we all had to trade in the leather jacket for a denim jacket (which, if you have a denim vest with all the band patches, then you get into denim-on-denim which is a dangerous area to mess with) and, more to the point, we wore... flared jeans. I know, horrible.
I voted for paint-stained pants, because I feel the conversation could go even deeper. Like, is it socially acceptable to act the way we do in public under the excuse that it's part of our identity, despite how we may be representing said lifestyle/fandom/hobby? It's something I've been wrestling with for a number of reasons.
I used to wear paint stained pants because I went to art school and only owned two pairs of jeans, so I really didn't have anything else to wear. Nothing deep or meaningful there! Hahaha.
