Hey Everyone. I wanted to take a moment to mention the recent performance issues we've been dealing with on LitReactor that I'm sure hasn't gone unnoticed.
We have been planning a move to a new server for a little while now and were preparing to do so shortly after Teleport Us had wrapped up. It seemed like a good time to do so and things were otherwise going well.
However, over the last few days, a variety of factors has made it harder for us to stick to this plan. Our server is just having too hard of a time keeping up with us right now and though we keep playing with it, we've kind of just hit the hardware wall.
We've already got a new server being built but we need a little time to finish getting it set up. Our original plan was was to have about 2 weeks for this transition but we're aiming to get it done much faster than that.
You don't need to let us know about performance or slowness but it you come across something that seems really unusual, drop me an email at kirk[AT]litreactor.com
On the plus side of all of this, I guess people are liking what we are doing over here. They just are doing so ahead of our schedules. :)
In any case, thanks in advance for your understanding and support.
Yay new hardware! Good luck with the transition!
You should have just said "rolling blackouts due to WAR." Damn it, Kirk, we are writers not IT guys.
(also, thank you for the good work you do, sir)
Some of us are IT guys ;) New hardware is always interesting. Especially when you get to look back at what you used to be running on and compare. ;)
I did.
thanks for all of your hard work, Kirk.
