JY--away from Bourbon street the music was fucking amazing. Definitely an almost magical feel to it. And the architecture was quite impressive. I found it pretty amazing that they put so much effort into maintaining the older buildings (especially post-Katrina) when so many US cities have just knocked the original architecture down and started over.

I just got laid off two weeks ago and I'm not really sure what's on the horizon. But I did get a little bit of severance, I'm in ok shape for the time being and I'll make things work. But I "get it" when people are broke. I've been there. Might get there again soon.
So here's the deal - I will sponsor 1 month of membership for a WAR participant once we get started. If times are tough or you're a student or whatever the reason - you don't have to explain it to me. First one who needs it, send me a PM. Then we'll see how we can technically work it out.
No strings attached. I only ask that you take up the offer if you really need it and that you do your best to take advantage of the exclusive craft essays and hopefully the workshop for the month.

In response to Otis's earlier post. I got 9 on it too. Is one extra trip to the sperm bank and one less twelve pack this month really gonna kill me? Might even keep my mind clear while I try to read all 36 of Chuck's essays 5 times a piece before tourny time. So how can we front that anyway? Is there a virtual donation Jar WAR FUND? I would assume if we get in touch with Kirk (the big bossman) with our money and whoever we are donating it for, he can take care of the technicalities for us. We'll just need to figure out who we're helping by the start of WAR. We just want to make sure not to start their workshops til the official start date, or we'd be throwing money away...
In fact, let's do this...I am (UN)officially volunteering to be in charge of the charity portion of the WAR. If you want to donate, PM me in addition to posting here, and let me know your stipulations (how many people, how many months, etc...).
if you NEED HELP for the WAR, PM me. This way I can keep track and match up donors. Please stick to the honor system, only ask for help if you really need it. Don't be a cheap bastard. I don't think anyone would take advantage of this, but i I don't know all of you, and this IS WAR afterall.
