I thought a four week cycle, though protracted, would work out best for a lot of people. You can crank out a competition final in a week, sure. But can everyone do that consistently for five rounds? A lot of members have children, or 2+ jobs, or a dedicated cocaine habit that takes time.
Four weeks just seemed humane. Especially to lure in heavies like Richard, who is probably also working on a novel in addition to his master's degree in ass-kicking.

cool, sounds like a plan.
as far as "bosses" that's where the seeding comes in. it's just like the NCAA. it's just a matter of if we do one ranking (#1-32) or four divisions, known as "brackets."
ONE RANKING:
#1 seed plays #32 seed
#2 seed plays #31 seed
etc.
ONE RANKING, FOUR BRACKETS:
North:
#1 seed plays #8 seed
#2 seed plays #7 seed
etc.
So you could possibly have your four #1 seeds meeting up in the semi-finals. Like this image, but with less teams.

Basic Instinct: A police detective is in charge of the investigation of a brutal murder, in which a beautiful and seductive woman could be involved.
