We should make riddles and poems some of the prompts.

Does that scare you guys?

I think it's a good idea, I mean look at R.Moon and Utah's recent stories.

Poetry and riddles are up to the readers interpretation rather than a point to wrap the plot around.

I am in favor of poetry prompts.  Maybe we culd save them for later rounds?  Final four - ALL POETRY!!

I don't like riddles though.

Yeah I like them poetry prompts, good idea. A good variety of prompts would be nice or they end up getting too plot-specific, "your dog took a shit in the laundry basket NOW RIGHT THAT," sort of thing.

Okay, reading this thing over, I think the solution that will work generally better for everyone, myself included, will be to make the DEADLINE SUNDAY, MARCH 18, @ 10:00 PM CST.  So, we have a date and timing change.  This schedule will make this whole thing smoother, I think.  It will give everybody, including us procrastinators, a whole weekend to either write or finish our story.  And it will mesh way more smoothly with my family life.  An undivorced Utah is a happy Utah!

Aside from this shift back of two days and five hours, the schedule remains the same.  We run the rest of this on two week cycles.  A week of writing, a week of polling.

This will be the final adjustment of time for this competition.  Future rounds will not be extended because we got spoiled on a 10-day schedule this time.  All future rounds of writing will be one week.

ONE question.  When does the poll open?  Is it monday to monday?

It'll be Sunday night to Sunday night.  As soon as story deadline goes around I'll check the stories to make sure they're anonymous, then post the polls.

And if I get both stories in a matchup earlier than deadline on Sunday, I will post them early.  But no earlier than Sunday.  That way everything won't be so last-minute.  But I will not pester anybody to submit stories early.

@rach122:  No, I can only accept a single draft.  This is gonna have to be like chess.  You move your piece and take your hand off, you have to leave it.  So once it's in my email-box, it's your submission.

Don't second-guess yourself too much.  Revise and be confident!

Of course I'll take it, Alien.  My email account isn't so trainable that it won't show up.  I just won't post a poll for it and I'll give the win to your opponent.  Unless your opponent is also late, in which case I will ask one of the alternates to be so kind as to step into the next round so that contestant still has someone to compete against.

Just realized you're trolling me.  *kicks self in nuts*

This one time...at band camp... But seriously, in high school band, we talked about your chops all the time.  Playing a clarinet requires strong mouth muscles.
