Hi Reactors, during Jack's's birthday party it came up that many of us (three) love accents, hence the idea of creating a sound bank that writers in the world can use for their fapping description needs.
I'll start with my accent, but there really can be linked any sound a writer may find useful for inspiration. Possibly.
So, that's more or less how I speak English. In the morning. An Umbrian Traveler's accent.
Contributions from all LitReactors are welcome.
Flaminia - you sound so pretty!
I'll post the second I get back to my apartment...I think I'll read from the book I'm reading.
You don't sound German to me Flaminia. I am not sure why people would tell you that. If I'd had to guess without knowing, I would have assumed Italian.
Ok, I got one I found....what is a good soundbank or somewhere I can upload?
Maybe I'll post a typical Pittsburgh accent. I doubt anyone will understand it.
Alirght, I found something. I have worked REALLY hard to lose my accent since people think you're an idiot with one, however, listening to it now....yeah...I sound like a redneck still.
I linked my voice above. I used kiwi6
Well, I've tried to get rid of it, but I can still hear it a little. Just the way I drop 'g' or drag on the words. If I spend enough time back home it really comes in thick.
Matt sounds pretty well like I thought he would.
Thanks for the compliment, I like yours too!
@AD, what do you mean?
that you sound pretty much like I thought you would
that you sound pretty much like I thought you would"
How would that be? Just curious.
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, buddy. I don't know what you want me to say.
Yeah, I know. You're cool. I guess you're just saying it was whatever impression you got is all. At least that's how I took it. When are you uploading?
Hahaha! I'm not.
WHAT? No, I have got to hear this! Oh c'mon now, it'll be fun. Just read a passage from something and put it out there.
I think it disappeared...
Hmm...treasure hunt.
No really. It's gone.
Well crap....you should make a new one!
Dave, you too!
There's a soundclip of me with my lovely inebriated accent somewhere on the tubes... When I find it, I'll share. It also has a drunken barroom song attached to it.
That was almost too easy.

So the story is, I used to sing at open mic nights when I was superdrunk (this is going back like 7 years now) and we put a group together with a few of the guys, but we never actually rehearsed even once, we'd write the songs on our way to the shows, and apparently what with the extreme amounts of booze we'd consume, we were entertaining enough that someone thought they'd pull a fast one and record us one night without our knowledge. When I got my hands on a copy of the recording (naturally, while inebriated) I managed to make a myspace page and post them (As was the style at the time). Of course, when I woke up, I had none of the passwords required to access the site, so there I am in all my drunken glory. Enjoy my ...accent.
(sorry for all the backstory, it's been a while since I've heard these. Getting all teary eyed.)
@Meat - I really like the song about sailors, that was pretty cool.
Everyone loves sailors! Thanks babe!
As if I wasn't in love with Dave already...
Sounds like a Texan to me though not as thick as I imagined.
Well, I started with 15 years on the border, so that's as un"mexicanized" as my accent will ever be I think.
Don't change a thing.
Awesome voices.
Dave, wow that was badass.
Thank you, thank you, I'm here...everynight
OMFG that's awesome.
Dakota! Your voice is nothing like I imagined. And you for sure sound more country than I do.
Laurance, you sound about right to me, keep up the good work.
Hahahahahaha
These are from another thread:
This is my recording of a Bukowski pome.
One of my own pomes:
And these are the opening lines from a novel draft I've been working on.
Upon the 4th listen...I like the way Dave says the word 'Texan'.
LOL, Texan.
