Hello,
I'm new here and signed on for a pretty specific reason, so before I go stumbling around in the dark, I figured I'd ask for a bit of help.
I'm an aspireing indie filmmaker looking to solicit stories for possible short film adaptation. Is there a specific 'category' of this community to look for/ ask for such things? I modestly believe I have the eye for the camera, with many, many years of still photography behind me, but story creation/creativity is one of my weak points, so I am looking for writers to collaborate with.
Thank you for any help you can provide. Best, Chris
That sounds like fun...
Hey, I have something for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcmiqQ9NpPE&t=5s
Wow, someone's got his panties in a wad.
It was not smartass in the slightest. I thought the video very much applied to what you're doing. If you watch you'll notice the guy references a lot of movies.
I have to say, though, you really don't seem like the type of person a lot of people are going to want to work with. Which is too bad, because like I began my last "smartass" post, what you're doing, and I quote myself, "sounds like fun."
Also, you didn't mention pay in your first post.
Also also, it's my understanding that most users of this forum don't go by section, as you can group all recent posts from all sections on one page. It's not a super busy place.
You bring up an interesting point. As a result, I'm starting a Writing Gigs And Calls For Submissions thread. Feel free to post it there! As an added echo of what Thuggish said, adding specifics about pay, what you're looking for, and so on will probably save you a lot of time wading through questions.
(As will checking the knee-jerk butt-hurt response).
