As far as I know, no one has ever done a Saturday Night thread.
correct me if I am right®
You know you want to make me wrong.
Anyway, this is the Saturday Night Party Thread.
*Restricted to Saturday only.
Anyone found on the thread during a non-Saturday will be sent to the LR jailhouse.
Okay, That is probably enticement for you all.
Crims.
What did you do on Saturday Night, the silent LR night?
Watched 'Return of the Jedi' with my kids (5 years old) for the first time. Watched them for their reactions more than I watched the movie.
My Son: "Is that Darth Vader's ship?"
Me: "Yeah."
Son: Sighs "Again."
Me: agonized silence
Son: "I like Darth Vader."
Me: "I love you, son."
Now, I am getting drunk, and writing.
@Chester: I do indeed have twins. The girl is ambivalent toward SW, and also not much of a cuddler. The boy was snuggled right up with mem and as such I got a lot of questions/comments about the movie. I did have a breakthrough with the girl tonight, she was quite entranced with Yoda's death scene in RotJ.
It's still Saturday night over on my corner of the country.
I went shopping today. I bought a 10 inch figurine of Finn from Adventure Time. You can change is expression. It was cute.
I also got some wonderful/stressful news this morning: I received a job offer from a company I interviewed with out of the blue last week, so it's been on my mind all night. I like the company, but I've been working at getting a job with another company and I'm only one interview away from finding out if I have a spot on that team. I have my reasons for wanting a job with the second company more than the first, but now I don't know what to do -- accept company A's offer, or wait for company B? Company A would be a backward step in my career, but company B might not hire me at all, so a backward step in a career would be better than no career at all. I don't know... the whole thing has been eating at my ribs. I'm probably overthinking it!
I'm spending my Saturday evening watching Toonami. Toonami got my creative juices flowing back in the day, and now that it's back, I use it to tickle my imagination glands. You guys should check out an animation called Deadman Wonderland... that show is crazy!
I spent all day making submissions and all evening drinking Shock Top Wheat IPA and trying to track down some WIPA that wasn't made by Anheuser Busch. Apparently two exist. I've been to their websites. But...no one seems to carry them. Can't even order them online.
Slave to the Busch.
No, unfortunately. I've been scouring the web and came up with Vicious American and Hop Dog. Hop Dog is supposed to be available in CA through the summer, but the only places that carry craft beers are Trader Joes and BevMo in the Palm Springs area and neither carry it. The guy at BevMo suggested both the BevMo website and ebay. No luck.
So, it's either Shock Top, or I say goodbye to WIPAs...but wheat beer and IPA are like my two favorite things...so this is very hard for me.
As you ,Mz SparrowStark, I am posting on Sunday eveining. Of course I attempted to post my say so yesterday and wound up losing it when my computer went off line. Therefore all my clever remarks are forgotten and I present the news as it was.VERY boring. Cleaned in the am while the husband payed the bills. Listening to good ol rock-n-roll. You know, 1950's through the 1970's. Yes I'm old. Part of the alcohol and drug generation. However, I only joined in partially, I grew up with the gestapto as parents. That's a different and long story. I have no idea what you all were talking about concerning what I think is beer. The only thing I understood was the term BoWL. Sooo after cleaning came 5pm service. then a visit with my husband's girlrfriend. So as you can see I need a life, any suggestions?
My girlfriend and I took my son to see Brave, then we came back to my house and helped my four year old design Super Mario Bros. levels with crayon, which seems to be one of his favorite things to do right now, while watching Robotech on Netflix.
Interesting thing about Robotech, there is a shower scene in the third episode that was cut out when I saw it on the Sci Fi Channel as a kid. You see this naked chick from the back. I looked at my son and he was all dimples and grins during it.
Yes but alas my husband asked my girlfreind to be his best"man" when we married.....there has been , what I term, an affair. When your husband requests you call his BEST wo MAN to be sure she is doing alright and for mothers day gives her a card and candy....the same thing he gave me except he ate my candy!!!!....... Perhaps a drink or better yet a little hashes followed by a ride in the VW convertable (in the middle of winter) enjoying the ride, hanging out of the open convertable, held by your belt loops of your favrite pair of Levis...oh what a ride it could be!!!!!!
Love the bowl and the multi- talent- ed chip
