Telling someone they need to be bitch-slapped sounds like you're angry haha. I'm not attacking you btw I just thought it was funny.

Your main question was : "Is a short story about a boy being raped in bad taste?" For me, it could be in bad taste only if it harms that raped boy - if reading that story will open up his trauma, make him suffer all that shit again. You should think about it.
And ethnicity? At first post you wrote only one word about them being polish and I took this as a part of description, nothing more. I assume that story is about specific crime and victim-perpetrator relations, not about 'how those dirty Poles like to rape someone from time to time' :) It's like writing 'rapist was red-haired man' - it's stupid to accuse this of hate for all red-haired, right?
That's my opinion. Sorry for my polish jabbering.

The one thing I haven't noticed anyone address yet is whether "that's a plot that holds some intrigue?" I would have to say, based on what you've given here, it's not, but it could be. Hell, anything could be intriguing. It's all in how it's told.
So maybe take that as the challenge, if it's something you want to write about, find a way to make it intriguing.
Also, is it the boy being raped or doing the raping, because you go on to say that it's two boys that rape a guy. Maybe that could be a sequel to that movie Chronicle.

I haven't seen it. I'm kind of scared to, because it looks like it could be a really good story, and it probably starts off that way and then they Hollywood the crap out of it by the end. But who knows In Time surprised me. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it sure was a helluva lot better than I was expecting.
