The unplugged version of this is pretty good too.
Amazing! Thanks Matt Attack!
For me, that counted as a gem.
Wow.
But the true gem is when Robert Downey Jr. sang it WITH Sting on Ally McBeal.
I first heard about it being a stalker song on I think VH1 (back when I still watched TV) and it was a brief clipping of an interview ages ago. It sort of impacted me on why people write music.
Not a stalker song, but this one (he was just trying to impress a chick but it never would have worked out):
Ringtone: Kung Fu Fighting. P.S. Last post of the day even though it's only midnight.

Some of the lyrics can be a little ESL at times, but that's only fair. I love these guys to death.

I still consider ISIS the Tool sister-band. Not exactly for sound, more for elements of songwriting. Fucking unbelievable, they were.
One of the few bands I can say has in some ways changed, in some ways defined my life.

I was listening to this on Spotify last night and it calmed me to sleep. Love this song (Nessun Dorma), love the band (Twelve Girls Band) separately. Perfect match.

First - I'm a couple days late with this, but I didn't see it at the time - on the topic of Chevelle...I would not say they resemble Tool in any way. I met Chevelle back in "the day" when The Red and Send the Pain Below first came out. Nice guys. They're brothers. I said something about how proud their parents must be and none of them laughed, they'd probably heard that before. Otherwise they were lovely. But to me, they always felt like a slightly darker pop group. I like them, don't get me wrong, but I like Weezer.

Here's my first contribution... Don't know if you remember a band called Cry of Love - they only put out 2 records but they should have stayed together. The lead guitarist is Audley Freed who is awesome. This is one of the better clips I could find online (though not my fav song which is Carnival)

Oh you know, where someone follows you around the internet marking down everything you say/do. And then unsuccessfully tries to hack into your Facebook.
Double trouble Thursday.
OMG!! This song is about a TV. For reals.
The unplugged version of this is pretty good too.
You guys miss my Weezer videos, right? LONGTIME SUNSHINE!!!
"Sometimes I wanna get in a car, close my eyes and drive real fast
keep on going 'til I get some place where I can truly rest"
Jess, that is sweet.
For me, that counted as a gem.
This song always made me happy. It made me happier when I learned The Shins commissioned a bluegrass version.
I went to Strip-Karaoke tonight and sung with my signature song ("Torn"):
I think I was smooth. I pretended that I was a straight chick, which was easy since I'm traditional and all.
Wonderful live performance. I love this song. And the drums in this set are so great.
"Soon as I see the dust settle, Lets go out and find some trouble!"
Such a weird dude. Good song though.
For you, Matt Attack
Ultimate stalker song. Ultimate, because people thought it was romantic. Lure them into a false sense of security...
But the true gem is when Robert Downey Jr. sang it WITH Sting on Ally McBeal.
Renee, that was for you.
Amazing! Thanks Matt Attack!

Aww, thanks. I am scared and flattered at the same time. Scar-ttered.
Good song to start the weekend with, even though I'm at work. FML.
Seriously have a crush on Aoife. Great voice. I'm attracted to different things. Don't judge.
One more to grow on from her solo stuff, featuring Yo-Yo Ma no less.
Some of the lyrics can be a little ESL at times, but that's only fair. I love these guys to death.
The next best thing to Tool.

My fourth of July contribution.
Ray Charles
Ionisation = Nice pick CJ. I never saw a video of it, just heard it. Imagine being the conductor trying to read the full score of all that madness...

Second -
Nah. I've always viewed them as a more poppy version of Tool. Also that Ray Charles video is pretty awesome.
They feel like a boy band to me, not like N'Sync exactly, but just that they sound like boys.
MattAttack, I was thinking about the "America the Beautiful" song yesterday too! Maybe incorporate some of the lyrics into the story I'm working on.
There are dozens of reasons not to.
But I'm still going to post it again.
This is what I call my Sagittarius theme song.
A shiny new gem off of Jason Lytle's new solo album, coming out 16 Oct 2012.

Kym
Here's a little known classic from Mr Gibbard of Death Cab and Postal Service. A nice folky track perfect for summer.
He may be quite possibly my favourite artist right now.
p.s. Please excuse the dead weight at the end of the track. Best version I could find.
Not sure why I've been in such a melencholy musical mood lately, but Lisa Hannigan's voice does funny things to me.
That moment where you realize you're sort of being internet stalked, and not in a cute funny way.
@AD - did that happen to you? (Tell us about it on the internet!)
How does one internet stalk? So... uh, I can avoid it happening... not so I can do it.
Oh you know, where someone follows you around the internet marking down everything you say/do. And then unsuccessfully tries to hack into your Facebook.
Whoa! Are there internet restraining orders one can get?
